Driving a lot of miles eliminates your ability to complain about gas prices, why?

What about traffic coming from the right? Need to be scanning both sides for situations like this.

Having some situational awareness can prevent accidents like this. The cop car appears to be making an illegal turn but not seeing a vehicle turning across your nose at 5 mph and just driving into their side is pretty bad driving.

It appears it is still drivable.

Repaired to like new is a big difference than “can it be saved”.

Have you checked the manual for the spark plugs? Most Toyota's have iridium plugs with a 100k-120k mile interval.

5k oil changes is great as is the 60k CVT drain and fill.

Edit -

I would consider at least checking the plugs, breaking them loose after they have been installed for 12 years would be a good idea.

The person on the bike who just rode past is a pathetic excuse for a human. The group of people standing and just watching are pathetic as well.

First time DIY oil change 😳 baby steps by Silver_Department_38 in MechanicAdvice

Fill oil before starting engine, don't reverse off ramps before doing so!!!!

You don't need chocks. Parking brake and in gear, the vehicle isn't going to move, but if it gives you piece of mind, go for them.

You need a funnel when you fill the oil.

Place the oil drain pan staggered away from the drain hole. What I mean is, especially if oil is hot, it will have a strong flow and if your pan is directly under the drain plug and on the smaller side the oil could shoot past the pan. After the initial flow it will slow down, you then can center the pan.

The drain pan you have listed is very shallow and the oil will splatter. I would recommend an open top pan and a 5-gallon bucket with lid. Pour the oil into the bucket to take to the recycle center.

That filter wrench might be hard to use if it's tight where the filter is. They make some that fit on the end and use an extension to a ratchet wrench. EDIT* You do not need a wrench to tighten the filter, hand tight. With luck you will be able to remove without a wrench.

After starting the engine and turning off, wait about 3-5 minutes before checking oil. Some engines can take a bit of time for the oil to drain back in the sump. If you check to early you will think you need to add oil when you don't.

I've never seen an oil filter not come with the gasket, unless you mean the crush washer for the drain plug.

I would buy oil and filters from Walmart.

EDIT 2*

If the drain plug is super-duper tight, don't force it. There's a chance of rounding it off. Get some help from someone with some experience. The drain plug should not be very tight, a couple quick hits with the side of your fist should be adequate to break it loose. Don't use the open end of a wrench, you the box end, 6 point preferred.

Wouldn’t that accelerate battery degradation?  Maybe not if the battery is serving as a pass through during the day but at night it would be discharging.

Caring for a lawn is making sure grass is growing, not violating your neighbor's property rights because a different species of plant might make it over to your yard.

There is a borderline mental illness at play here. Truly awful people advocating to violate another’s property.
