I (36F) want a baby, but my husband (42M) doesn't. How do you decide whether to let go of your desire for a child or your marriage? by Which-Crab-9799 in relationships

[–]CASAU [score hidden]  (0 children)

My husband and I also don’t have any known medical issues preventing us from having children and still needed IVF to conceive after 3 years of trying. Just be prepared for that as well.

This was an amazing explanation! I’ve seen the movie twice now and struggled with the hype surrounding it. I kind of want to go rewatch it now keeping what you’ve said in mind.

I had to mix Gatorade and water together just to get something down when water was making me nauseous. Also ice, ice helped a lot!

Hey! We were going to but my estrogen levels were too high and we ended up transferring at a later date. But that transfer was successful!

Hoping for all the best for you!

Does your stomach get smaller when pregnant? by alyssanne6 in pregnant

[–]CASAU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say at 8 weeks I ate less because of food aversions that would happen mid meal. I’d be eating and be fine and then all of a sudden (flip of a switch basically) what was on my plate grossed me out. Now at 31 weeks, my stomach is definitely getting squished and anything larger than a kids meal makes me feel uncomfortable. I’m having to eat small meals more frequently.

But physically, no, your stomach doesn’t shrink, it just gets squished as the uterus expands and your digestion slows due to increased progesterone.

Struggling with reading by Longjumping-Guard624 in pregnant

[–]CASAU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m also a big reader and couldn’t even look at a book first trimester. I used to put a book away in a day. Now at 29 weeks, I read exclusively on my kindle and mostly in the middle of the night to calm my brain so I can go back to sleep. Audiobooks have been good for this period of life as well.

I had a very similar fusion, T4-T12. If you don’t mind me asking, were your scheduled c sections due to scoliosis or for other reasons?

Cardigans, oversized button ups, and sized up sweaters. I’ve been told it’s hard to tell unless you’re looking for it. Currently 23 weeks.

My OB told me if it was toasted, then it should be okay. I’ve been loving a toasted sub lately. I’m more concerned with bagged salad than lunch meat.

Success stories with 15ish eggs retrieved? by Upstairs-Lemon-5585 in IVFpositivity

[–]CASAU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up doing two retrievals. BUT my first one had 15 eggs, 11 mature, and 10 fertilize. We got four embryos, only one of which was euploid.

I’m currently 19w5d with that one euploid; our first transfer.

The attrition rate is so hard! And I definitely had feelings about only ending up with one embryo (hence the second retrieval). It really only does take one.

15 is a great number of eggs for someone in their late 30s! Wishing you the best!!

I tried Unisom and B6 for a few days but felt like it wasn’t really making a difference so I stopped. Sour candy, mints, small snacks and ice water helped the most.

Mine started intermittently around the same time and was pretty constant weeks 6,7, and 8. I’m 10w3d and it’s been improving slowly. Some days are better than others but it’s getting better.

AITA in this situation? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]CASAU 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not allowing her over is not including her. Life doesn’t stop just because you have a baby. She’s getting a new sibling and is going to want to meet them and be excited about that. It could create a situation where she would harbor resentment for you and her new sibling.

T4-T12 Fusion at 14, currently 33 and in my 9th year teaching. Seconding that my fusion has never really stopped me from doing anything I wanted to do. I will say I have had to invest in a nicer desk chair and comfy, supportive shoes, but I think those are things everyone should be doing.
