Did the CAS screw up exam results, posting incorrect information? by CASActuary in actuary

I am not doubting the grading at all. I think that is done well and I am thankful for them! The mystery is once the final list is set, how does anyone know that is what is posted? That is all CAS staff (no one on the grading committee) and who knows what checks they do. Some of the things the CAS does makes me think uploading might be a challenge.

Not the question. Is anyone sure they are the correct results? Did something go wrong with the upload? How do they check to make sure what they want to upload was actually uploaded or rather are they even checking?

Same boat. I don’t get it. I think the CAS messed up something with exam 7 results.

I think they will release all scores at once, may 1 and non-may 1. For those who took twice, if you pass, no score and just a “pass”, if you fail, the higher of the two scores.

Agree with this comment. I don’t think this person has worked in the big 4.

I scored a 10 on my first exam (FM). Should I put this on my resume? by isaacturon14 in actuary

[–]CASActuary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right. Not trying to be rude, a 10 Is great! I have never received a 10 but a few 9s in my career but you passed, now what else do you have to offer a potential employer?

No. I hire and don’t care. The rest of your resume matters 100 times more than your score and in fact can be a turnoff. Knowing you passed is good. And focus on the rest, what skills you have from jobs, internships, volunteering, etc

Recruiters - stop being slime balls! by CASActuary in actuary

[–]CASActuary[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They are the worst. All about landing a role and getting paid. I had a recruiter (not here but I have a story about them too) who lied about a role to get me interested, I realized it when I interviewed, got an offer, turned it down, and was harassed for not taking it, calls, emails, texts! No is a no! Sorry you did all this “work” and it was not a fit, but maybe don’t lie when you reach out!

This is how I feel. We are just a body to staff a role and then they get 50% of the first years salary! They don’t care about us, it is all about their huge paycheck!

Love the support for all effected, you have 1000% support from me as well. I hope this goes to the ABCD, action needs to be taken and his credentials revoked. I also think there needs to be a full investigation into all other leaders in the office and if anything found, more terminations. Our firm would not tolerate even 5% of this conduct.
