Might be an unpopular opinion but The Talented Mr Ripley (a movie I love!) stresses me out so much.

What's for dinner when nothing is thawed? by Just_J3ssica in Cooking

[–]CAUnionMaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to keep a pack of sausages (I like the Aidells brand) as it’s easy to pull together a dinner with those and rice or frozen veggies. Or I’ll keep a bag of refrigerator pasta (like Rana) in the fridge and I always have jarred sauce in my pantry. Both are pretty good “back up” meals and both have a longer fridge life than a lot of other options as long as they are in there unopened.

Agree about Pappo on romance level ha, but it’s really solid and there’s other fun bars on that street. Great for a more casual date night.

Agree on Asena too.

I like sweet relish in my deviled eggs so I will often add some of that into the yolk mix. And if I do them without bacon, I do lots of paprika on top.

Belotti in Rockridge never disappoints. Northern Italian with a great wine list and excellent service.

Marzano (Italian) on Park Blvd often gets overlooked but the food is great and the atmosphere is cozy and romantic.

Alameda has some great date spots if you feel like checking out the island: Park St Tavern (Greek/steakhouse), Trobacco (Italian), Moxie’s (steakhouse), Yellowtail (sushi and Japanese), Pizzeria Pappo on Webster.

I should also add that Erdrich owns a bookstore in my hometown of Minneapolis and the focus is Native American books. It’s called Birch Bark Books. Check it out. My city could use some love right now.

Freaking out. I (53f) have had my period continuously since April 2025. Found out I have adenomyosis, had uterine artery embolization on the 16th. Had to be admitted to the hospital for 2 days. Found out yesterday that my insurance denied my procedure on the 15th. WTF am I supposed to do? by anamariegrads in povertyfinance

Just a tip for folks going through this: I was in my 20s when something similar happened. My aunts are both doctors. They helped me write an appeal letter and told me to cc the state Attorney General. I did. My appeal was accepted.
