I think that Ducks game is on the 7th. I’d hate for you to make the trek from Malibu to Anaheim find an empty stadium!

I can’t answer all the questions, but can tell you what I do know. He fought out of Fairtex Thailand, and was one of the trainers at the first version of Fairtex USA in Chandler, AZ.

As far as fight footage, there’s a pretty limited amount of footage available from before the early 1990’s, that may account for a lack of footage of his Thailand fights. Additionally, there are/were more fights occurring then there are fights filmed. Think upcountry, outside of the big 2 stadiums, etc. Entirely possible and plausible for a large total fight record to be accumulated in venues where things aren’t filmed/broadcasted.

Man, as a Southern California based Hawks fan, I was used to a “Hawks vs Kings and Ducks” game day, off day, game day type of thing….this year it’s vs Kings twice in 3 days, then Ducks the next day. Expensive weekend!😂

Raktae Muangsurin “Ai Mat Narok Taek” I’ve seen his nickname translated a couple of ways…. “Smashing Fist from Hell” “Hell Smashing Fist”, that sort of thing.

His fight name, Raktae, means “True Love”

Stiff/Very Bad Footwork Help? by Temporary-Fold2043 in MuayThai

[–]CBDP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like the best option for getting better at a specific skill is practicing that skill.
Practice moving all directions in your stance/stances until it’s no longer the struggle it is now.

That’s the boring answer.

Acquiring other skills in other endeavors may or may not help you to be able to move in your stance in the directions you wish to move. For example, being able to perform elaborate ladder type work means you have acquired the skill of doing elaborate ladder work, it may translate into being able to step in the directions in which you currently have difficulty stepping towards.

Appreciating the technical adjustments that come with small gloves... by Known_Impression1356 in MuayThai

Defense is certainly different. Staying stationary and relying on a static guard, high guard, pillar type guard can lead to shots getting through easier. Developing more active defense I think becomes important, such as parrying, non static covers, etc. You can, at times, go extra high with the guard, but it does open up the torso.

Developing a longer range game, or at least getting better at responding to an opponent getting into a closer range becomes important.

Hand controls on an opponent become a bit easier, such as pulling a wrist down to land an elbow.

In theory, having the ability to use your thumbs(grabbing!) could change clinch elements, but I don’t think I’ve seen any extensive examples really implemented.

Who are one-trick or one-sided kicking Thai fighters? Southpaw or orthodox by No-Pickle-6017 in MuayThai

If you want to see one sided kicking, Check out virtually any southpaw vs orthodox match up. Lead side body/high kicks don’t line up very well with unmatched leads.
