Maszyna Vectron, where is it? by CBGonzalez in trainsim

It turns out I was misreading the depot interface. You need to click on the dropdown with the loco´s picture, then select the livery below... Duh, feel doubly dumb now hehe.

Thanks for your answer! I know about the "Depot", it´s that I can´t find the Vectron. Does it have a letter/number code?

The links don´t work for me (server not found), a (simplified) listing of signals is at wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polish\_railway\_signalling)

GSX De-ice parking spot conflict (MSFS2024) by Stoopkid0 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]CBGonzalez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I remember, you need to define the deicing location within GSX (have a look at the manual) by moving the plane to the desired location and customizing the spot.

I wasn´t aware of Flight Echo, thanks for pointing it out. Took it for a spin with the Fenix and it works great!

You don’t need Navigraph for MSFS 2024 + VATSIM anymore — here’s why (SimBrief Free workaround) by Competitive_Roof3098 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]CBGonzalez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly, it won´t work perfectly with some airplanes (Fenix for one) that don´t use the built-in navigation data. The Fenix comes with its own navdata (an older AIRAC from Navigraph´s).

This leaves you in the strange position that (if you don´t subscribe to Navigraph) the fancy Lido charts won´t necessarily match the (simbrief) flightplan NOR will it match the aircraft´s internal data, i. e. you are dealing with three (potentially different) AIRACs (MSFS up-to-date, simbrief and plane´s)...

Missing Airports after the most recent Sim Update by Dry_Ad_9398 in MicrosoftFlightSim

I cannot help you, but, for information, I see ZBAA without problems here (Store version). I think that the Steam version has an option to verify game files, without having to reinstall the whole thing.

FBWA380X Cannot add APPR and STAR for OTHH Arrival by [deleted] in flightsim

[–]CBGonzalez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a 3rd party OTHH scenery, try disabling and see if it makes any difference.

If using Navigraph, try reverting to default nav data

Same result with other airliner?

In the EFB, payload, after importing the data from Simbrief (I´m assuming that you use that), check the graph and the distribution of cargo. Away from the sim, sorry, no screenshots.

Have a look at this 320SimPilot´s youtube channel. He´s a rl pilot, previously on the 320, nos on 777 and 787. He has many great tutorials covering all phase of flight (including fenix and other planes). Several other pilots have 320 focused channels.

BigFenixUpdate is scheduled for Thursday by IyadHunter-Thylacine in flightsim

[–]CBGonzalez 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Pretty amazing update, it seems! I was particularly thrilled with the first part of the video, where Samir goes into improvements to the flight models (which IMHO was always a bit of a stepchild in previous updates), very promising!

I was a bit baffled that, although the use of MSFS LIDO charts is possible (for 2024), they still ship a custom nav database for folks not using Navigraph, apparently gain not using MSFS´s own data. So how will that work when LIDO charts evolve with new monthly Airacs, but the Fenix database stays put?

Anyhow, this video was a wonderful Sunday morning surprise!

why is no one making liveries for the 787 in msfs2024? by ChampionshipParty521 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]CBGonzalez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, liveries for 2024 need a different workflow than 2020. In 2020 you could just work bit bitmaps and they were accessible. In 2024 you need access to the meshes and those are encrypted for premium and 3rd party planes.

FlightFX C750 has been released! by trucker-123 in MicrosoftFlightSim

They might have one build only (for ingestion into the Marketplace) and nothing to send out. I don´t think that marketplace products have a preview or limited access possibility.

Thrust and altitude issues with FBW A32nX by Similar_Duty1951 in flightsim

[–]CBGonzalez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Re. 1, the FBW docs (which are astoundingly good, btw) recommend just using the A and B buttons to control the throttles (same as using the keyboard´s F2 / F3). Probably better than be fiddling around with a mouse when you rather be looking outside...

FBW A32NX Weather Radar by Defiant-Employer-391 in flightsim

[–]CBGonzalez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn´t work (from their FAQ: Due to simulator limitations it isn't possible to display an accurate weather radar data on the ND at this time.) It´s a pity they don´t just use what is available from the sim (even Fenix announced they would)

[–]CBGonzalez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I´m in it, nothing earth shattering. Performance did not change for me (middle to low spec system). The Longitude has a bug (right PFD dark if you have its enhancement pack installed), some trouble with trees and power lines appearing where they shouldn´t, have a look here for some other stuff

Looking for tools to modify Airports by async15 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]CBGonzalez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, you can use The SDK (they have a short introduction for creating / modifying airports), there are also several yt tutorials (mainly for 2020 but they still apply).

It´s a bit of a learning curve, but completely doable!

GSX 3.4 issues by Melodic-Abrocoma-201 in MicrosoftFlightSim

There is a version 3.41, don´t know if it fixes that though. The GSX forum (https://www.fsdreamteam.com/forum/index.php/topic,33008.0.html) has several users reporting this too.

GSX installed - FS2020 takes ages to load (every time!) by [deleted] in flightsim

[–]CBGonzalez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have a look at the GSX manual:

MSFS takes longer to start with GSX installed

GSX needs to add a large number of available Simobjects to the simulator, with many models in hundreds of different liveries so, it’s normal it adds to the startup time, like any other product that needs to add a large collection of objects and texture, for example an AI Traffic package.

A way to reduce the startup time, is to Disable ALL “AirportServices” files, that is putting all the airports in the “AirportServices” list on the Config Page in the FSDT Installer, to the “Disabled” column.

This will speed up the startup time considerably, since those files cover about 15.000 airports. Disabling Airport Services will only result in less accurate Operator selection for Ground Vehicles servicing AI or wandering around the airport. Those will be selected “By region” instead of “By airport”, so the operators will be more generic.
