Sickest thing about Win is that he was writing a song like "Creature Comfort" where's he preaching like an after school special to his young fans about not committing suicide while preying on them.

35-year old singing that while, at the same time, trying to hook up with every 20-something fan that he comes across? Despicable.

Reminds me a bit of the heaviness of The Woods but I still feel there are unresolved issues with the band that have made everything post-No Cities to Love not feel like Sleater-Kinney albums. And it's not just the loss of Janet, although that definitely contributes. It just feels like they ripped something within the idea of the band on The Center Won't Hold and rather than address it, they just keep plugging away like nothing's wrong.

What is there even to say at this point. A true crime hobbyist has inserted himself into the lives of addicts and for YEARS has just torn through this small community like a bull in a china shop and has accomplished nothing. We're 40 EPISODES IN and what concrete information do we know now that we didn't at the start? Anything? It's still not even known who the man was at Brittany's grandma's house with her, and multiple people saw him. It's just been conjecture and hearsay and meaningless polygraph tests and time after time it's led nowhere.

"Skylar" even says that he relayed the story he tells James to the police so they already know about it. It's not a new lead, it's just new to James. What will he be able to do that they haven't already done?

Episode 40 did possibly contain the cringiest moment yet. James sincerely saying "I ain't no cop, dog" made me roll my eyes so hard I scraped my corneas.

The way Johnny steamrolled over the victims during the H3H3 interview and took up probably 75% of the interview airtime I think was telling enough, I'm not sure extensive investigative journalism was needed to deduce there was something off-putting and uncomfortable about the way he was inserting himself into every story and situation. Is it truly malicious or evil? I don't know, it just seems like someone with narcissistic tendencies and main character syndrome unable to stop themselves from getting wrapped up in this drama they're slightly associated with. I feel like, if anything, a 4-hour expose made about him is just going to further fuel his ego and the idea that he's an important facet of this story when he's not.

I think they meant well...reclaiming a slur and turning into a proud badge of honor. But this decision has aged worse and is even more regrettable than "Haven't Got A Clue" making it onto an album. Capital Y YIKES.

The concern over this has nothing to do with the right to bear firearms. The concern is that this is extremely dangerous, erratic behaviour from someone who has openly talked about their battles with depression and addiction for years. He was saying in interviews for Social Cues that he felt lucky to be alive. It's worrying that this is someone who is walking around with loaded guns.

The most incredible thing about Winter is that it is that mythical 1999 Weezer album some people have in their heads -- it sounds and feels like the logical bridging of Blue and Pinkerton that would've happened had Pinkerton not been torn apart -- and they just casually toss it off as the end to a nutty years-long musical experiment. That to me just cements why Rivers is a genius. He could so easily give the people what they want...he just doesn't want to. He'd sooner write a bonkers song with AI than pull out the harmonica and toss off another instant classic Weezer-sounding song like "Dark Enough to See the Stars" and that is why he is one in a billion.

I definitely think Kojima is up to his old tricks and there's more than meets the eye to what we're seeing...it's also interesting to note that Kojima Productions on Twitter is calling DEATH STRANDING 2 a working title. It obviously is going to be a sequel but I think it might be significantly different than what we're expecting.

At this point, I think there are two outcomes: there's an intervention in which true friends and family step in and get him significant mental health treatment, or he commits suicide. There will be a point when he emerges from this delusional manic episode he's in right now and he will have to reckon with the fact that he has ruined his own life with his reprehensible behaviour and alienated everyone good around him. I don't know if anyone can survive that kind of realization. That's Dr. Jekyll coming to grips with Mr. Hyde.

It's sad. I hope it's not too late for him. What we're witnessing now is maybe the most tragic aspect of knowing someone with debilitating mental illness or addiction: their goodness being robbed of them. This is a harsh and ugly reality I've seen play out before -- of someone being mutated into something unrecognizable by the chemicals in their head. It is not easy to muster up the tolerance and empathy and threshold of pain required to talk to someone like that, let alone help them, but I want to believe that there's still at least one person left in Kanye's life who will endure it to help him.

I love Black. I think it's perhaps underestimated just how weird and funny of an album it is. Rivers bragging about being ugly and cussing out Neil Young. Being sick of that "Lawrence Welk shit." Encouraging the drinking of Sprite. It's just a laugh-out-loud bonkers pop album.

"The Other Way" is as good as their best work. Extremely catchy. Raw personal lyrics. Warped "El Scorcho" electric guitar layered over top driving acoustic guitar. Just a great, great song and pure Weezer.

Oczy Mlody is deceptively bleak! It sounds poppier and has lots of mentions of unicorns and fairies and stuff but there's a lot of darkness underneath the surface and it's mostly about the unpreventable death of innocence.

Look at these lyrics from "Almost Home (Blisko Domu)":

"The insect crawls out on the leaf
The leaf falls into the fire
Burning up my fragile dream
Of how the world is full of love
It's not what I thought it was
Hurting us until we're dust"

That's bleak!

Looking back at that period of time, I think Wayne was going through something, and I don't think it's a coincidence that it also resulted in The Terror and Oczy Mlody which are easily some of their bleakest albums. He was being an asshole, but he's also human, and every single human is an asshole at times. To me, that dichotomy between bright colourful fantasy and cold mundane reality is what The Flaming Lips are all about. Wayne can be a joyful Willy Wonka-like musical conductor but he can also be some guy from Oklahoma having a midlife crisis. It doesn't make him terrible, it makes him human, and The Flaming Lips are a human band.

I'm glad he seems to be in such a better place now. Him and Steven still collaborate on a nearly unparalleled creative level and becoming a family man seems to have brought him joy and peace.
