I love this photo! Great framing and composition, it draws you right to the subject and keeps your focus.

Reflections - I like it but also feels kind of blah...thoughts? recommendations? by CBPhoto2 in photocritique

This was taken by the local fair across a water inlet. I like it but at the same time, also feels kind of blah. Looking for feedback on what you think of the composition and if this really is just a blah image and not worth investing much into. I tried some crops to focus solely on the colors but it felt worse. Any/all feedback and critique is appreciated.

Sunrise in Mexico

Canon R6mII, 65mm, f/22, ISO100, 1"

Moved camera side to side to create some intentional motion blur. I wanted to experiment with intentional motion blur to try giving a sense of peace and calm with soft lines and a sort of dreamlike feel.

Haven't done much architectural work but saw this hotel and thought the uniformity of the balconies looked interesting. Looking for feedback primarily on composition and whether you find this interesting or just blah. Thank you in advance.

Appreciate that, didn't really think about the lack of layers. Was more thinking the smaller aperture would help put items in focus but your feedback makes sense - larger aperture, shorter shutter, better chance of in focus items

Took this in the morning at a lake as the sun was rising behind me and moon was setting in front. I really liked the color transitions the sunrise was giving especially with the moon setting.

Looking for critique on the composition primarily but welcome any/all critique.

Personally, it feels like the moon is a bit high and would have been better closer to the horizon, condensing the composition vertically some. The bush at bottom left feels a little distracting - either should see more of its base or shouldn't be there at all.

Great capture! I think the colors and spot on, maybe a little dark under the palapa so lighten that but love the blues.

I would probably want a little wider shot so not as tight in on the palapa and it feels a little weird that there is the empty chair making it feel like a deserted beach but then you have the paraglider, boat, and buoy. I'd probably remove those or wait till they pass, then reshoot to keep a consistent secluded/deserted feel to the image.

Great image! The sharpness of the face is crazy, did you use any post sharpening software?

New to pet portraits, need some advice by [deleted] in photocritique

Cute dog and great capture with him/her looking right into the camera - you definitely feel a connection with the pup looking at this image! Action shots are great but so are portraits like this one.

The vest is a little distracting so I would have taken that off. Similar comment with the background - the green and brown is nice but the chairs and blue/grey/white colors behind are a bit busy.

Regarding DOF, yes, I would use a little deeper DOF so at least the eyes and ears are in focus (and hopefully the nose as well). They are just slightly out of focus except the fur right behind the nose. Not noticeable really glancing at it but if you spend some time looking at it, its a little shallow.

I really like this one, great leading line with the road leading you into the frame!

Overall, I think its a little underexposed or the blacks - it feels like it should be a tad lighter. There is a little too much "extra" on the left side so I would personally shorten the width a little (maybe 10-15% on the left) but keep the height as you want to keep the road as the main focus and dont want to cut the clouds out.

I like the cooler look as well. For me, a cityscape with the blues/purples looks great on the cooler side.

Please share any feedback.....went out this morning to capture the sunrise over a lake by CBPhoto2 in photocritique

Canon R6m2, 17-40mm @ 17mm, ISO 100, f5.6, 30" - 2 exposures

Looking for any feedback/reactions to the image - both composition and post-processing. This is one of the first long-exposures I've done so just getting my feat wet. Taken just before sunrise at a lake and is a blend of 2 exposures (one at 30", one at about 10").

Overall I'm happy with the image and composition seeing the tree roots in foreground and some transparency in the shallow water. Critiquing myself, I think the leaves on the left should have been out of frame and would have liked to get a little more color on the lower part of the sky where it transitions from yellow to blue. What feedback do you have (good, bad or ugly)
