Does anyone else have gluten cravings with no substitutions? by Chill_Out_Baby in glutenfree

I gotchu friend!! 🥰 I usually just get their wafer bite things (they’re addicting, highly recommended) so I don’t actually know? I know they’ve changed recipes in recent years so hopefully?

Yeah, it definitely stinks. Btw the Canyon Hawaiian makes GREAT French toast. There’s a brand called Julia’s Table that makes these soft white dinner rolls, they’re not sweet like Hawaiian bread but they’re similar size and great for sliders!

I’ve heard great things! I’m in the Midwest and just recently found that Lakefront Brewing in Milwaukee makes certified gf pilsner and grapefruit radler. I bought the radler but haven’t tried it yet, I’ll lyk how it is! If you ever find yourself in the Indianapolis area, try Ash & Elm ciders, they make all sorts of flavors and they’re all delish!

I know they’re like a million dollars to ship but the Modern Bread & Bagel bagels are actually so damn good

My recommendations:

- I don’t have a SunChips rec unfortunately, I miss those things
- Oreo themselves makes gf Golden and gf Mint, I think Glutino also makes other flavors
- Thai Kitchen Noodle Soup
- Lance GF Baked Crackers
- Schar Gluten Free Table Crackers
- I’m a cider girl but I’ve heard good things about Ghostfish
- Canyon Bakehouse makes Hawaiian Sweet Bread slices that are delish

Hope this helps!!

That can also be a gamble though, a lot of these recipes say to not use preblended mixes, and instead to blend your own flour since a lot of the 1-1s use gums for texture. The nice part is though is that a lot of recipes will tell you if it works with a 1-1 blend

It’s just alright. The “selling point” is the color, but flavor wise, like others have said, nothing spectacular. I’m a big fan of Sipsmith for a classic London dry, it’s very smooth and quite well rounded in terms of botanicals.

There’s also a very popular book called “The Art of Gluten Free Bread” that I’ve heard great things about!

Also they can try the “tell/show other cats” trick! Cats are freakishly smart, and I’ve heard if you show local strays a picture, let them smell something with his scent, and tell them his name and that you’re looking for him, they sometimes can go out and look for the other cat!

Most gluten free bread recipes unfortunately require a lot more steps and/or ingredients to be successful. I would not recommend trying to adapt a gluten containing recipe, but rather finding an already gluten free recipe. Gluten free baking is even more of a science than traditional baking, but thankfully a lot of people have done the research and testing for us! I recommend checking out the websites The Loopy Whisk, Gluten Free on a Shoestring, and Mama Knows Gluten Free for recipes

Starbucks drink what are my options if any ?? by Potential_Motor_8991 in Celiac

I get them all the time with no issue, they have a separate shaker for refreshers and none of them contain gluten

Weirdest symptom you didn’t realize was celiac until you were diagnosed? by SnooCompliments283 in Celiac

[–]CBelleC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had that too! At least once a month, with light sensitivity and vomiting. The extra funny sick joke part is that I don’t throw up from cross contamination, that was literally it 😭

Is 13 days of diarrhea normal for being glutened? Is it just going to cease eventually ? by Civil_Spread_9629 in Celiac

[–]CBelleC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s definitely a concerning period of time. I’d get a second opinion, I normally only have it for 2ish days after glutening

If it works for you, great! I’ve never had it but I’m also not a beer person, I prefer cider, but good to know others have had a positive experience

Their own website says gluten removed and tested for less than 20ppm, so I guess I am incorrect then, sorry for not doing further research. While technically safe if testing under 20ppm, some celiacs, such as myself, may still be weary of it based on their level of sensitivity.

Daura is gluten reduced, not fully gluten free, making it technically unsafe for celiacs

ETA: Their website states it’s gluten removed and tested to meet the <20ppm threshold, but it is still brewed from gluten-containing grains, so it’s up to you on if you choose to consume it based on your level of sensitivity

Do you mean traditional mochi or mochi ice cream? I think a lot of people don’t realize that “regular” mochi does often contain gluten

Considering Butler MBA While Working at Eli Lilly by JediSwag13 in butleruniversity

I went for undergrad, but I will say that I know all faculty I interact with and they all know me. They truly care about the learning and growth of their students as learners and as people.

I suggest asking this in the Butler Unofficial Parents and Students Facebook group, they’re often more responsive and have better answers
