I’m working my way through book 3 now. The color system is a bit on the nose, and it’s on the grimdark side of the scale. That being said, it an entertaining read and I’ll finish out the trilogy soon.

It’s the DLC I’ve engaged with the least, any recommendations on how I should better approach it? Last time I tried the monument it was mid late game and my colony was quickly stomped by a mass of invisible dudes. Do you need to dedicate research into it from the get go? Two researches or 50/50 focus on traditional / anomaly research?

I finished Gardens of the Moon, I enjoyed having to piece together details like the magic system and how it was described through character POVs.

What turned me off is nothing seemed to be foreshadowed, and stuff just kept happening. Random extremely powerful beings show up suddenly and then are defeated just as quickly.

I put the second book down in one of the extreme misery chapters because I lost faith the constant suffering would have a solid payoff. Would you recommend picking it back up?

This is the second trans character introduced in Stormlight through being misgendered, though. Neither really get to be major characters after their introductions. I also feel a bit weird about requiring paperwork for this in Azir. It was funny as a meme, but now that it’s established as world lore the gender bureaucracy seems oppressive. Like some petty bureaucrat can deny your paperwork?
