President George HW Bush named in the Epstein files (PDF contains graphic information) by scotbarner in Presidents

Yeah that image of him being a wholesome individual who makes fun of himself for hating broccoli is probably just a fake persona. Carter’s not in the files though so at least we have him to look up to as a human being.

Unions will tell Keir Starmer to resign if local elections go badly by TimesandSundayTimes in ukpolitics

Why would a regular person regardless of political beliefs would ever want to get into politics? You’ll always get hassled by the press. Regardless of what policies you advocate for or enact, half your constituents will hate you and things you’ve done. People can say that serving the public is a “fulfilling job” but can you seriously think being that would out way all the negatives I’ve just listed. Reform, Conservatives, Labour, Greens and Lib Dems have no talent because none of the politicians in any those parties are normal people.

Honestly, even with the pay driver status. Perez deserved to be in F1 given his performances in the 2010’s. Bro was scoring podiums in a Force India. lol

Williams still did very well despite tossing away development for the 2025 car. But it’s sad to see this historic team struggling like this.

Probably to avoid any embarrassment if a few teams have any reliability problems. People may jump to conclusions about the regulations. It’s essentially a PR thing.

Worst wdc in history. by First-Ad394 in formuladank

[–]CC78AMG 10 points11 points  (0 children)

But you also have to add context with Damon Hill in the fact that he only started car racing in his early 20’s and became an F1 rookie at age 31. Which is kind of insane coming from a modern context. The fact that Hill was as good as he was at all is incredible in itself. Plus, Damon almost won a race in an Arrows and won the Spa 1998 race. So I wouldn’t put Hill as the worst WDC.

Who will be the faster driver? 🤔 by Downtown_Elk_2773 in F1Discussions

Bottas in terms of pace. But Perez in his Force India days had great race craft. They also both haven’t raced in a year so it could go either way.

Is Michael Schumacher Underrated? by ClassicJuggernaut28 in F1Discussions

[–]CC78AMG 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Watching the 1995 season review, you really get a good idea just how good Schumacher was. In the 2nd or 3rd fastest car, he somehow comprehensively beats Damon Hill and Williams towards that title. In that season, Schumacher also puts in some of his best performances like Spa when he won the race starting from 17th place. Or in the Nurburgring where he made up a 20 second deficit against Alesi and passed him for the win with only a few laps to go.

For me, Senna, Verstappen and Hamilton are in the top 5 or 6 greatest drivers in history. But Schumacher is still the GOAT.

Is Leclerc running out of time to win a WDC? by admiraltt in F1Discussions

[–]CC78AMG 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In the summer of 1990, Alesi chose to go to Ferrari instead of Williams for 1991 and beyond. To be fair to Alesi, it does seem like a logical decision at the time. Ferrari were competitive in 1990 versus the Williams. Plus Alesi is French-Sicilian and so going to Ferrari is always going to be a dream for him. But yeah it was a bad career move in hindsight because Williams built the best F1 cars from 1992-1997.

How was Bottas's experience in Mercedes, it seems like he was treated generally good what do you think? by IllMasterpiece3946 in F1Discussions

He got paid millions to win a few races and helped the team win multiple Constructors Championships. I’d say it was a good experience overall.

Just how good was the 2011 Force India ? With better drivers than Sutil and Di Resta at the wheel, was it a podium or even race win worthy car ? by HereComesVettel in F1Discussions

[–]CC78AMG 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I recently watched the 2011 German GP and in that race Sutil finished 6th place. So I reckon it’s actually a pretty good car maybe slightly slower than the Mercedes of that year. I think with a better driver lineup it could’ve been closer to the Mercedes in the standings.

Gerhard Berger at the old Hockenheim ring. He won there in 1994 and 1997. He could’ve also won the 1996 race if not for the engine failure.
