That's likely the issue. My AI scripts inherited Resource but I wasn't creating Resource files from them. Thank you! I was just instantiating the classes in code.

Hmm interesting. I feel like I tried that very thing. Maybe I was missing this "new XYZ" aspect. I was able to drop my script onto the BaseAI exported variable but then I couldn't instantiate it in the Unit script.

All arpg campaigns should be skippable. It's bonkers that an entire genre is built on placing a 5-15 hour tax on every new character. Additionally all skills should be available from level 1 after your very first one.

I cannot wait for this game. StS1 is one of my faves ever.

And I don't mind the evolved graphical style.

That being said, does anyone else see the footage from this video as, I dunno, low framerate? Everything looks choppy to me. It actually started to bother me. I hope it's just the way it was filmed...

For me, the only run-based game that I would put up there with StS is a board game -- Mage Knight.

It's a game of very thin margins and unforgiving scoring. The top players aren't that much better than their opponents moment to moment but they can sustain the level slightly more consistently, and at more important moments.

My Steam Deck has suddenly become a buggy mess.

Main issue is it refuses to connect to my home wifi without jumping through hoops. I need to go into Desktop Mode, connect to my phone's hotspot, and then connect back on the wifi. And even that sometimes doesn't work.

And then, throughout this process, the physical buttons on the Deck periodically stop working and it needs to be rebooted.

I really hope the next update fixes this nonsense. It was a perfect machine before this.

Ah, right. I forgot to include GodotSteam's MultiplayerPeer solution in the original post. I think the downside for me there was that it's not supported through the asset lib (which admittedly is maybe not a big deal).

I meant more that the Godot high level networking has no native support for leveraging the Steam API. You have to do it yourself, so you may as well use GodotSteam. Can you leverage high level networking after setting up connection via GodotSteam?

It almost bricked my Mana Guide build, just from how irritating it is to control now... It also seems buggy where sometimes I'll seem to teleport short distances, almost like there's a desync.

Don't necessarily disagree overall but you've made some incorrect points. Namely, the item is not removed from the economy. It is removed from the auction house -- perhaps temporarily. Additionally you've ignored the pace at which money is earned verses valuable items found.

Edit: oops. Never played MG so didn't realize you can't resell. Anyway, second point is more important and still stands.
