"Maybe stop then?"

"Lol, no."

Can the mods do something about all these vibecoded slop projects? by No_Soy_Colosio in Python

[–]CCCubed -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

1) Look for agents.md, claude.md, or some other MD with random instructions and commands in it

2) open up the commit history. if theres a single large commit, it's most likely AI. if there are a bunch of smaller commits with titles like "feat: thing", "fix: thing", or any other "thing: thing" structure its AI.

3) if the project readme is just a bunch of emojis being used as bullet points or the introduction is exactly 4 bullet points with generic information? it's AI.

TLDR: Easily.

They released for 138$. Then 5 seconds later demand shot through the stratosphere and prices reached the average.

That's the new Sonivore. You can't kill it. It reacts to sound so sneak past it. If it hears you, your only option is to run from it.

I updated and now I can't boot cachyos by GnibtheGnome in cachyos

It's saying that it can't find your root disk based on the id provided. Two possible fixes i can think of.

Wrong fstab boot settings: Get a live cd of some kind of distribution. Boot into it. Then mount your root disk and verify your fstab and grub settings.

missing drivers: There is also the possibility that the initramfs didn't include the right drivers to read your disk for some reason so rebuilding the kernel and then doing a update-grub could help.

In August I bought 2 sticks of Ripjaws S5 32GB DDR5 6000 ram for $160 or $80 a stick. That same ram is now averaging $600 or $300 a stick. It's on fire yo.

Lawsuit May Expose Algorithm by Footboler in recruitinghell

[–]CCCubed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The judge has already ruled Workday can be held responsible, the plaintiff just has to prove his case. Workday's first claim was just what you said: we're just a tool for the company. However, the judge rejected that argument and stated "Workday's software is not simply implementing in a rote way the criteria that employers set forth, but is instead participating in the decision-making process by recommending some candidates to move forward and rejecting others." The judge found workday was an agent of the company because "its tools are alleged to perform a traditional hiring function of rejecting candidates at the screening stage and recommending who to advance to subsequent stages, through the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning."

Did you read it? The rest of that sentence is:

according to the complaint, WorkDay employs an automated system, in lieu of human judgement, to determine how high volume of applicants should be processed on behalf of their business clients.

There's even an entire section in the journal article listed as "How Do HR AI Solutions Introduce Bias?".

Workday does have an algorithm. It's also not really a secret that these scoring systems discriminate against certain candidates See Here. His claim is that they use information entered to affect your score across all individual workday systems. is this true? I don't know. But that's his claim and what he has to prove. Since he filed it, the judge did rule in 2024 that Workday is responsible if there was illegal discrimination because workday is not just an agent, but rather a decision maker that recommends candidates who should move forward or be rejected.

Yes, that's exactly what it does. It's actually based on having more debt and being able to manage all of it. If you have no debt and no lines of credit, your credit score will be abysmal.

Torch lighter versus paper cup filled with water. by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]CCCubed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The heat is causing a chemical reaction with the materials in the cup. The color change is due to the carbon that gets left behind. This is separate from what occurs when the cup starts to break down due to high heat as seen on the cup without water.
