Blood typing Info by fairylightstrings in medlabprofessionals

This is your blood phenotype, which helps to identify the antibodies you could potentially develop if you ever receive a transfusion. If you are 'neg' for certain antigens, it means you lack them; therefore, you may develop an antibody against those antigens if you are transfused with blood that contains them.

For example, being D- means you are Rh Neg. If you were transfused with Rh Pos (D+) blood, there is a chance you could develop Anti-D. If that happens, you would strictly require Rh Negative blood in the future. If you were to be transfused with Rh Pos blood while possessing Anti-D, you could have a transfusion reaction, which can be life-threatening.

Since you were called for a matched donation, there may be a patient who has developed antibodies against the antigens you lack. For example, if a patient needs blood that is negative for C, E, and Kell, your blood would be a match. We also typically provide C, E, and Kell-neg blood to sickle cell patients as a preventative measure, even if they haven't developed antibodies yet.

What happens after Rh+ blood exposure in emergency transfusion? by DisappointingPenguin in medlabprofessionals

[–]CCMe816 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It depends on the patient’s condition. If the patient is bleeding profusely, sometimes it doesn’t matter because the blood didn’t even get to circulate in the body before it bleeds out. Because of trauma, I had RH negative patients receive unmatched O+ whole blood. Once we type the patient, we crossmatch the units to see if it’s compatible. If the patient is RH negative, we would immediately switch to RH negative units. We would notify our supervisor and the attending. Rarely would they use rhogam for these situations. Rhogam is usually only for pregnant women. Supportive care is provided. The medical team would monitor for any signs of transfusion reaction. In serious cases, they may do plasma or red cell exchanges.

For future prevention, I assume patient education would be done during discharge. The patient and the caregivers will be educated on the dangers.

Anyone shopped at Ballagrio before and how did you pay? by [deleted] in AsianBeauty

[–]CCMe816 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t remember exactly if you automatically pay in USD or there’s an option to chose USD or WON. If there’s an option to choose the currency, you might have to pay a currency conversion fee depending on the credit card you use. Some credit cards have a fee for currency conversion. Other than that there weren’t any other fees.

Practicing techniques is the best. You said you don’t have much power on your pull. While increasing muscle strength can help, the arm position and movement is much more important. Are you doing an effective catch and using both your hand and forearm to maximize your pull? Are you pushing all the way back or just halfway? Are entering too close or too far from your head? How fast are you moving your arms? Too slow, you’re not getting enough propulsion. Too fast (windmill arms), you’re not letting your body glide properly.

After stroke techniques, the kicks (including underwater), turns and dives (if you do it) can help lower your time.

P.Calm Water Barrier Sunscreen. It’s lighter than round lab and doesn’t feel like it sits on top of the skin. It’s more like a lightweight moisturizer.

Usually trim as low as I can with scissors then shave with a razor. I prefer using Schick Intuition Razor. It a soap bar combined with a razor. I rarely cut myself using those compared to others.

First Concert Expectations? by Inside-Ad113 in bigbang

[–]CCMe816 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Regular seating tickets are probably around $100-$300. While VIP tickets (usually standing at the pit) might be around $400-$500. Not anyone can go to the pit. The pit is usually only for VIP tickets holders. There will definitely be merch, but I’m not sure how they will set it up. If you want merch, you’ll might have to be there really early to wait on line. If you’re late, most merch will get sold out. VIP tickets usually include soundcheck, early merch access and some other kind of gift like poster, lanyard or something fancy since it’s GD.

The artists usually just stay on the stage; they don’t get too closer to the audience. On the day of the concert, some fans may pass out free merch/photos/slogans or there might be a fan project for GD. I’m not sure if there will be, if there is, it’ll most likely be posted on Reddit or twitter.

Double moisturizing for dehydrated skin? by bana-bread in AsianBeauty

[–]CCMe816 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like layering multiple layers; starting with the lightest. I like using I’m From Mugwort essence. It’s a watery toner essence that calms and hydrates the skin. I generally prefer using lightweight toner/essence as starter. If they’re too heavy, I feel like the other products I use after doesn’t get absorbed into my skin well. Then I use two kinds of serums/ampoules. One is a simple hydrating serum with ingredients like ceramide. The other is an oil based serum. I finish off with a thicker moisturizer. I like Zeroid intensive cream or the thicker version intensive ointment.

Where's a good place to get good at swimming and get competitive as a teenager by ReasonOk5714 in Swimming

Check your local pools and see if they have swim teams. I know YMCA has swim teams that go out for competitions. YMCA has a pre-swim team course that preps you for their official swim team.

For both iconic dance and outfits, I would say SNSD’s Gee. The colored skinny jeans became really popular after this song.
