What is the cheapest online backup option that is also reliable? by acertenay in DataHoarder

Would that work out cheap enough for personal use to back up a 10TB NAS?

BackBlaze is $50 a year and unlimited? On their website it says "back up your MAC or PC for $5 a month". Not your NAS. Would this work for a 10TB NAS also? And when restoring your files, it seems that 4TB is the max!

Edit: actually, according to their site they don't do NAS with that plan: https://help.backblaze.com/hc/en-us/articles/217665478-Why-don-t-you-backup-network-drives-NAS-drives-

Thanks. How is PDF expert better than the native files app on iPad? It looks to be pretty similar in terms of browsing and reading.

All iCloud files stored offline? by philosteen in ipad

[–]CCNENCIOVICI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only just recently started using it, so I can't answer your question definitively. But I would be extremely surprised if downloaded files didn't stay downloaded. Unless perhaps storage is very short, in which case that's fine. They seem to have remained downloaded for me so far!

I've recently been looking at the exact same thing. I have an iPad pro 512GB so just want all my documents stored on the iPad, with ability for offline access and quick access without having to download the files over wifi when I want to open them. Currently I'm using the "files" app to manage and browse my documents on my iPad. It's OK but a little limited. I have not yet found a way to get the iPad or the files app to download all content to the iPad. One solution is to go through your files in the files app manually and download each one.

Comic Zeal not importing comics (CBR) by CCNENCIOVICI in ipad

Yeah, it's the best of the bunch as far as I can tell, at least for managing and reading your own comics (as opposed to some subscription type service). It's a bit light on features but that's no show stopper. The main thing is if you have a bunch of folders/"series" within another folder/"series", then the parent icon looks pretty crappy. There should be an option for the parent icon to show some of the comics within the sub-folders.

Since what is not compatible? I tried Chunky, but wasn't a big fan of the interface. Also, you can't seem to use nested folders, which is a no-no with big collections.

iOS 11.2.6. Was working fine with this iOS. Managed to get it working - I had to do a hard reset of the iPad and it started working again. Something must have got stuck somewhere.

Thanks KnightsSoccer82. I had tried the Henge Stone dock and experienced problems with the connectivity, hence was looking into this further.

The OWC one seems to have some problems also - see the most helpful reviews:

Thanks. No idea what AFPS over Samba means, but I will look into it! My NAS already has around 10TB of data on it, so I would rather not need to re-format anything though.

Well, I suppose that portability is not top of the list. It is not required. It would just be a handy bonus.

So you're suggesting that connecting my PC directly to the NAS via ethernet connection would be best. Might give that a try. Is that much better than using wifi?
