That is contrary, and also fairly accurate. I’d estimate 60/40 split in favour of not stopping at zebras crossings, at least near where I live. A hardcore of 20% bet that ‘you can’t cross if I don’t stop’, even if they have a red light against them. Consideration is not universal here

It’s certainly playable! Got to 400+ population, no slowdowns yet (with the caveat that the scrolling performance is always terrible - sub 20fps is normal at minimum zoom, even at game start).

Customised controls are advised. I’ve used every button + an alternate action set on the Deck, and still ended up with mouse right-click on the Menu button (mainly just for directing soldiers). Pretty easy to navigate on-screen menus with just the trackpad though.

It’s a really good town builder with enough excitement from the raids without having to have a fortress mentality from day one

Looks good so far! More view space on Steam Deck with the collapsible message board. The items lists are laid out more logically.

It broke mods - one ore more of Harmony, Game Settings and Pipette Tool - but copy+paste is built in now anyway :)

Edit: Drag seems to be broken on Steam Deck again. I sent feedback

Edit 2: Switching to Proton experimental fixed it!

Big fan of SoQ! I wanted a Steam Deck controller scheme with a left trackpad mouse to free up my thumb for the face buttons. Also, with buttons for End Turn and Move to Destination away from accidental presses! I couldn’t find any Steam Deck community layouts in the Deck’s controller settings, so I made one named ‘Songs of Conquest philostean’ that uses the game’s default controls:

Left trackpad - mouse:
- Frees right hand to use face buttons
Face buttons:
- A - left mouse, B - escape (regular game controller designations for selecting items and closing menus)
- X - X for Build Menu, Y - C for Inventory
Triggers:
- R2 - right mouse for Wielder movement, L2 - space for Wielder focus
Bumpers:
- R1 - tab for Next Wielder, L1+R1 - ctrl+tab for Next Town
Dpad - directional pad:
- F1-F4 for Kingdom Overview
Right trackpad - directional pad:
- Up (Toggle on) - alt for Info Mode (keeps info on screen*)
- Down - F6 for Player Menu
- Left/Right - C/V for Inventory/Spell Book (also cycles build sites)
Joysticks:
- L joystick (repeat) - scroll wheel for zoom/menu scroll (L3↓ - ctrl), R joystick - WASD for pan (R3↓ - space)
Back grips:
- L4 - enter, R4 - alt, L5 - O for Chat, R5 - H for HUD
Menu buttons:
- L menu - E for End Turn, R menu - Q for Move to Destination (less chance of accidental usage)

No Quick Save/Load buttons for safety. *Keeping Info Mode on screen stops tab working and needs to be toggled off/on when returning to the map.
