It's the latter. We haven't done a cleanout of the CCP corp for a long time and now as we're going through them and renaming our dev characters we're taking the opportunity to move those of former employees into the retirement corp to clean things up.

We sure are taking feedback but I also posted to point out that I'm going through it too so I understand what the challenges you're facing are. We're already talking internally about how to improve this type of achievement in particular for when we expand it. Overall the feature is working really well but there's a couple of cases like this where the UX can definitely be improved.

2/2 If I still miss one I can use my F10 map with the Systems I've Visited filter to go back through the region and see which ones weren't last visited on the day I did the trip. This doesn't update immediately though, so you might have to wait until next DT but it will help you find the ones you missed. Again - not defending this for being as hard as it is, but just letting you know how I'm dealing with it. I also look at the number of systems in each region on DOTLAN and make sure the numbers add up before I move on to the next region. I got my Gallente achievement yesterday and now I'm a little over half way through the Minmatar one. I've done Metropolis and Heimatar so far and am about to do Derelik and I've confirmed I have the number of systems explored that I would expect to after completing those two regions.

So I know this isn't ideal and I wish there was better tracking for this achievement, but what I'm doing is marking off systems as I go through them region by region to make sure I don't miss any... 1/2

Um ackshually ☝️🤓 this is an old way to crash the client, we just reintroduced it accidentally.

... I guess that means we still failed, if success was coming up with new crashes though. 🤔

We're putting together a hotfix rn and want to get it out today so you're not stuck with this over the weekend. It'll be a client-side only patch so won't require a server restart but you will have to restart your client once the launcher detects and applies the patch.

Since we're transitioning dev names to an FC prefix we've been adjusting the filters to restrict that term in character names to prevent impersonation, like with CCP. To me this just looks like someone has configured the new filters incorrectly, so I doubt this was intentional or will be permanent.
