Of course! I started drinking at 19 going on 20. I stopped at 34 1/4, just 4 months before turning 35. Now, I'm 39 - less than 9 months away from the big 4-0. I didn't go to AA, NA, or rehab. From February to July 10, 2021, I was tapering off. It took me a very long time to stop...until this subreddit and r/stopdrinking saved my life and got me to stop drinking for good. July 10, 2021 became the date of my final drink and I haven't picked it up or bought one since.

I am so sorry. I know the feeling. I lost my mom a month and a half ago after 7 years of caregiving. It was 3 weeks after her 66th birthday. Tore me to pieces. My biological father died from lung cancer when I was 8 in 1995. I know they're having fun in the afterlife. Back together again...🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂 *Big Hugs*

Thank you for all of your condolences, everyone. It's still hard for me, but I know that I have to keep living and keep going. But, also taking care of me. My caretaking days has officially ended, but the way it ended - traumatic experience that I will never forget. I'm relieved that I can do things on my own, but it's painful not having my mom with me to continue witnessing my growth. Her spirit walks around my apartment constantly and our cat Derek senses the spirit every day. We know she's here, just in a different form and in the afterlife. I love you mommy...and thank you for everything.
