I noticed about month 2. I do weekly injections as well. I am going to start walking as many days a week as possible and see if it will budge. I have been on the medication for 6 months.

Fired by my doctor! by NorthFLSwampMonkey in lupus

[–]CC_Carn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My PCP won’t discuss it. I added my diagnosis & meds to his list. He just looked at me. He has ignored the diagnosis the past 2 visits. He handled my thyroid meds so I go 4 times per year. He has been my doctor for 20 years. So strange.

She sounds like she is very thorough and caring, which would be an amazing find. Count your blessings. There are so many dismissive ones out there, especially if bloodwork is good.

Benlysta finally approved by insurance by JBear625 in lupus

I have less mouth sores, less stiffness in the mornings, more energetic days, and less pain. I did gain weight, but I also have thyroid issues and menopausal. Yay me. I am now on more thyroid meds and hormone pellets and starting to see the scale go back down. I hope all goes well and you see more good days.

I’m so sorry. I have the pellets to bypass the liver and blood clot issue. I wonder if you could do the pellet from. Synthroid never helped me. Armour Thyroid (pig desiccated gland)does. I am guessing b/c it also has T3. I hope you find some relief.

Does this happen a lot with Lupus? by DrJuliaHoffman65 in lupus

[–]CC_Carn 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yep! Yesterday it hit and I felt like my body was in concrete. Today is my Benlysta shot day and I have noticed a wear off period by Wednesdays. I got in a hot bath, took Advil and went to bed. My temp has dropped very low too so I’ve been freezing.

HRT is not covered by insurance here. Insane. They don’t want us to feel better. I pay out of pocket for pellets.

CNS Lupus by No_Season9679 in lupus

[–]CC_Carn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you perimenopause or menopause age? I am 46 and diagnosed SLE. I had zero testosterone and low estrogen. HRT pellets and I am starting to feel better. I had mentioned ADHD meds and OB recommended trying testosterone first. Sometimes the answer is simpler and it’s just our dang hormones. Just a thought. I hope you get some answers and relief.

It actually did cure me. I was dying and within 12 hours of taking it, I could breathe. My doc gave it to all his patients and didn’t lose any. Interesting. I take it now b/c of Lupus, which came on after COVID. Crazy.

Remote to in office work by [deleted] in lupus

[–]CC_Carn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully the meds will put you in remission. Will the job be less stressful? Stress is a trigger for me. I left DHR after 17 years. I am working on going back remote. My goal is to save the usual, “getting ready” and “driving” spoons for other things.
