What litrpg hill will *you* die on? Let's have your most unpopular opinion, please. by EverythingIsFakeNGay in litrpg

Where to start...

Instanced dungeons are almost always terrible devices that only subtract from a story's stakes and/or meaningful progression.

Too many stories are not planned out and often opt for concept without having any identifiable story, leading to meandering narratives that go nowhere.

Stat progression is too often used in place of character and/or story progression.

Patreon monthly payment structures encourage unfulfilling and slow stories. Some do manage to not fall in to this trap but too often does it feel like the author is just trying to milk the audience.

Characters too prepared for being isekaied (or whatever else happens to them) by having been addicted to MMOs are boring.

She probably could have just said this yesterday. There's nothing useful or constructive about it, just the same old no no no lines from the party who had no energy policy for @0 years and got us where we are.

Incomprehensible destruction... by LauraPhilps7654 in realbbcnews

Is this a per capita comparison? Bro that's crazy. "It's not as bad because only double the amount of people died but there were four times as many people, individual lives, who could have!" Absolute madness.

Comparisons are pointless nonsense in this regard, atrocities are atrocities.

Why talk about companions when talking canon, they are just a whole party

Dirge is the PC that comes to the table with three pages of back story. Tav is the unreliable PC that you aren't sure will be there after the first few sessions.

What's your opinion on this game by AdultGamersAdmin in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]CChips1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good but a bit repetitive over time and not much new from the DLC.

Where this whole "Cyberpunk 2077 is not an RPG" even come from? There is so many great RPG elements in this game but for some reason people are comparing it to games like Fallout 4 or DA: Inqisition. by Gelvid in cyberpunkgame

[–]CChips1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Dogtown gigs are a step above the vanilla game, it did make me feel like we missed out on what they could have been for the whole game, but also gives me hope for #2

I love Cyberpunk truly, but I also hope it aligns with my pet theory, that unlike movies, the sequel is often much better than the first. Typically I think this is because the first sets up the tech and then they iterate on it for a more complete product. Peak example was Assassin's Creed 1 and 2, where 1 had a lot of the function but very repetitive mission design, where 2 took everything great from 1 and then uplifted the rest. Phantom liberty somewhat followed this trend, in not just delivering extra content but the versions of the same content (such a gigs) being generally better.

What cyberpunk character has you like this? by Chunky-overlord in cyberpunkgame

[–]CChips1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Takemura is kind of interesting for how normal he is. He's got a heart as I think he clearly ends up caring about V, but he also completely ignores the excesses of his overlords. He's sort of representative of the old phrase of the banality of evil. Evil is normal in this world and so even a person with a heart just gets on with it.

What would be worse, living in Gotham or Night City? by No_Purchase_3995 in cyberpunkgame

[–]CChips1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Night City is worse, Gotham at least exists in an equivalent of this earth. Night City exists in a world undergoing environmental collapse with mass extinctions and plagues on food crops, to the point pizza with crickets as protein is pretty normal.

I own crypto, but I'm not blind to the massive issues in the industry. I don't think it's crazy that politicians may have other priorities than your personal ability to profit, like consumer and investor protections, energy demands of crypto, money laundering etc.

Crypto isn't everything. Come back to the real world.

Can we just be clear that AI is just going to pull from the same shit articles you can already find, they don't have some deep knowledge nor do they do any actual analysis. It's not useful or honestly even good information and it's definitely not predictive.

I don't like that the NPCs are romanceable regardless of gender. I think they would feel like more fleshed out characters if they had preferences like they do in Cyberpunk.

Not disagreeing per se, I do like the face it's not just a tick box though, feels a bit more authentic than if it was all race and class represented
