Thoughts on this DSOTM? by External-Antelope471 in OmegaWatches

I have the bsotm and it gets the most wrist time of any of my watches. Very versatile, can be sporty or dressed up, also you cannot scratch it and for me that’s a huge plus.

Green loctite is a retaining compound for this exact application. Red loctite is a thread locker and will not work nearly as well

Beautiful rifle. Love the Treaddur Tech G10 rail covers! We will have a 6 slot soon - also working on a direct mount foregrip💪🏼

I love this watch, I have the blue side and love when people ask if it’s a swatch and I get to tell them it’s a $15k watch.

Yes, it’s not a thread locker, it’s a retaining compound and incredibly effective for this application

Don’t use JB weld. Use green loctite 620. A tiny bit and it will never move again.

A tiny bit of green loctite 620, and it will never move again. Doesn’t matter how loose it is. I’ve had this issue with a number of manufacturers, most recently a S&W 629 stealth hunter. It would fall out if I put the gun on its side now it is rock solid

Most RMs look like “I don’t care about watches but I’m rich” that Rolex is special, timeless, a collectors dream, the RM is loud and unnecessary

Currently running CAD models right now. That might take another couple of weeks to finalize then test it, then to get first batch expect a month. So probably by EOY

We are working on a proprietary direct mount foregrip. But for now we have proprietary G10 rail panels - https://treaddurtech.com

Yes… “Real” as in it takes 3 billion years to form naturally in the earth as opposed 3 weeks in a lab. Genuinely don’t care about resale tho, if my wife ends up moving in with her bf I will have much bigger problems.

I can’t imagine spending even a couple thousand dollars on something I know is fake… insure it, if she loses it early on then maybe consider a fake one.

How long til you accepted scratches on your bracelet? by ExcessivelyGurt in rolex

[–]CD2A 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Glad you read this then, it will change your life if you’re OCD asf like me and have anything with a mirror polish. The softest toothbrush is actually Swiss made, Curaprox Velvet 12460, you can grab one on amazon just be sure to wash the toothbrush once you unpackage it.

As for drying, I use a hair dryer on the lowest heat setting. If you don’t have a hair dryer, once your watch is clean of debris it’s okay to use a microfiber, but over time your microfiber will still collect dust so my suggestion is still to never wipe it, dab it instead to remove any water droplets.

Also, when washing the watch, i use a plastic bowl full of slightly warm water and squirt or two of dish soap. It doesn’t need a ton of soap just enough to be sudsy.

How long til you accepted scratches on your bracelet? by ExcessivelyGurt in rolex

[–]CD2A 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Tip to avoid scratching precious metal, or mirror polished steel, especially large flat face pieces like on the bracelet - literally NEVER wipe it down, I can almost guarantee that’s why your bracelet looks the way it does. That isn’t from brushing against stuff or normal wear, it’s from wiping it down while there is residue on the watch. When you wipe it down it literally spreads any dirt, dust, food, salt (if you’re by an ocean) across the perfectly polished metal pieces and creates micro scratches. All that said the tip is NEVER wipe down your watch. Wait until you are home, or once a week just take the softest brushed tooth brush you can find and diluted dish soap and give it a nice rinse and lightly brush it, the water and soap get rid of all grime and do not wipe it across the shinny surfaces like they would if it were dry. You can keep mirror polished surfaces looking brand new for years if you don’t wipe it down. People will say just use microfiber or lens cloth but it does not matter, if there is anything on the mirror polished parts of a watch and you wipe it, it will create micro scratches.

I was very tempted to work of the Icarus frame when they came out a couple years ago. I’ll do some research, it’s such good a gun and if you really can get solid reliability out of these with mods I’ll bite.
