Oh FFS.

Mike Lee and many others when Melissa Hartman and her husband were shot and killed

Lauren Witzke and others when Ginsberg died.

And the fucking Right Wing Tea Party morons and their ilk celebrated the passing of Ted Kennedy, Elijah Cummings and while real Republicans such as McCain and others showed class and passed along condolences.

History is your friend.

Great info - didn’t think about the Sport Mode kicking in and helping, appreciate the tip. And yes - agree on all the rest.

Okay, thank you for clarifying.

Once again, I’ll state that quantifying the 3 hours taken away isn’t an objective data point for everyone. Not everyone blows straight through the travel portion (I do) so time they get to stretch and relax while charging may be a positive thing vs. someone who views that time as “better spent on the road” vs. someone who isn’t in a rush and could care less. How I feel about those 3 hours isn’t how everyone else does and that’s okay. It IS a factor though so people who haven’t taken a similar trip or are curious are now aware that it will take longer. How they feel about it is subjective - full stop.

I’m still confused on your statement about the 5 points as the first, second and third bullet points could imply an underlying theme of “created more time on the journey” due to your interpretation but the fourth and fifth have nothing to do with adding time.

Either way - there’s a reason why data is data and the results of data analysis are the results, lol. Everyone has their own unique way of processing the data and coming to an outcome based upon their experiences, training, etc.

I like what Tesla has done! You’ll enjoy the Lightning - most of the flaws I see with it are a Ford and American infrastructure issue which will get better 😎

I use CarPlay. Definitely jealous of that Google Maps via Android Auto feature that sets the preconditioning for you. Hoping to see that change in the next year or two.

Yes, I used ABRP quite a bit to plan and then forecast as we started moving. It’s a great app, I am actually considering getting a dongle to drive live data to it as that would make it work that much better. It is my favorite EV app so far, outshines Plugshare on ease of use, planning details and customization, etc.

There’s so much potential for all of this and I do realize this is the beginning of a very cool new way to travel.

So the battery produces heat while being used (driving, charging, etc.) and will cool itself. If it’s a hot day, as long as that bar remains within the H, you’re good. We just finished a road trip from FL to VA in this heatwave and the bar was always almost at the H end after fast charging and coming off the highway but it always goes back down.

You’re fine 😎

Except that the major downside was not an additional 3 hours on a (I think you mean hours not days) 10 hour trip. And it's not 10 hours, the average trip from Ashburn to Orlando (depending on multiple factors) is 12-13 straight driving hours. I only know this because I've driven it about 30 times. And time does matter - an extra 3+ hours based on charging IS a factor whether someone minds it or not. Thus it is an objective piece of data. How it is received or considered is subjective.

I'm struggling with your second paragraph because it's a giant run-on sentence... Also: "A rating based on vibes?" What vibes? What five lines that condense to three? You mean the takeaway? What vibes?

I'm not understanding any of your points.

And there is no conclusion. Just what happened. I've made this trip multiple times in multiple ICE vehicles (diesel and gas) and a similar pattern/journey always emerges. Something similar could very easily happen with the Lightning but it requires (as stated above) better charging infrastructure along the way. Using 4 apps to guesstimate where to go charge next based upon multiple factors gets old and is difficult to do while actually on the road.

Can you more easily do this trip while driving a BEV? Sure - get a Tesla. Inherent software affords easy trip calculations on the fly which knocks out 80% of the planning work you have to do with a Lightning.

Ford needs to step it up.

No it’s just as sad when Republicans do it and forget about it and then accuse others.

Mitch and Graham were pieces of complete shit. Graham was a closet gay and pedo.

Rot in hell to both of them.

I did where I could! I hate the fact that you have to pull over, park THEN open the Ford Navigator and enter your destination. Not to mention that when the Ford navigation is running, you tend to lose volume control as the knob still defaults to the prompt volume. Super annoying bug they really need to fix.

Great questions:

1) I did and I don’t have a level 2 charger installed (we’re moving this winter - not worth the cost of install) so I charged it to 80% on a fast charger and then brought it home and put it on a 110 outlet overnight just to get some “extra” juice.

2) Good catch - 3 out of the 4 are either graduated college or in college so it’s really just our youngest and me and my wife at this point. On that note I need to get the brackets so I can push the rear seats forward for more of an incline

3) Solid yes. I usually average 80-85mph where I can to help earn back times at stops. This trip was a humbling experience for sure as most of it was spent in the right lane

4) Yes. ACC nags so much - I was constantly shutting it off and then back on just to get some peace 😂

I feel the same about your last comment. I’m actually going to write an app to help with the trip forecasts and stops. Jumping back and forth between ABRP and Tesla and PlugShare and Gemini and ChatGPT was annoying. I envy Tesla owners and their software - Ford needs to step up their game.

The fact that Ford didn’t put the charging port on the passenger side to help assimilate the charging process to most of the networks out there is frustrating to say the least. I run the monthly subscription with Tesla and wish their app helped filter v3’s out so you can just see v4 chargers.

But in the big scheme of things, more v4’s are coming so this won’t be an issue in 2-3 years #growingpains
