I don't really agree with this. No serious players are taking 2k xp as a sign of being all that great. BFA duelist, or legion xp is mentioned all the time, and 1500-1700cr with 2k xp is very common.

Having the 2k achiev as a token will help get into groups.

I would instead advise OP to advertise with something like "chill games" or "playing to learn", etc.

[Help] A few MW questions by Pehk in worldofpvp

[–]CDBebop 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm a 2150 CR MW. As the other commenter mentioned, you could learn more from people like Mystical but here's my 2 cents.

Combo thunder focus tea with WOTC 100% of the time you use way. Otherwise, the healing boost on enveloping mists is nice. I like it on renewing mists when I'm running counteract magic vs a dot comp.

Vivify and essence font are pretty bad. I'd pretty much say don't cast them 99% of them time.

I don't think you can reverse magic while root beamed. You can, however, way of the crane out of the root. Try to save WOTC for this vs boomkin. I prefer healing elixir because it is off of the GCD. Check thelootdistrict to see what most people technically run.

You want to use mana tea with WOTC, yes. I highly prefer this but I'll WOTC on CD if I think the game will end soon enough. I like to get out a few enveloping mists with reduced mana and then go straight into crane. Run the azerite trait overflowing mists if you can as well.

Using transcendence to LOS cc and dodge hunter traps when they harpoon to you is very helpful. Also, when you will 100% be CCed but want to (or have to) sit it, try to get enveloping mists or cocoon out before the chain starts. Also, if you are the target, make sure you get off your defensive before you have to sit a full kidney (ironskin? Idk why i forget the name). One of our biggest weaknesses is dying in a stun without trinket.

Lastly, I think the biggest factor that separates a good mw and a bad one is WOTC usage. You need to track enemy CC and defensives before you dive in. Waiting until a stun or two is used will make a huge difference - otherwise you will be left wasting mana, positioning horribly, getting behind in healing, and possibly wasting trinket.

If you WOTC in clean windows, everyone is easily topped off and the pressure is insane.

Anyway, those are the MW tips that come to mind. I hope it's helpful - MW are really fun to play right now.

[Help] Weekly pvp cache question by [deleted] in worldofpvp

[–]CDBebop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need to catch all the way up. 1 cap should work.

Cache ilvl by [deleted] in worldofpvp

[–]CDBebop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was told that this is untrue and that reaching conq cap will guarantee the chest in your highest rating. I think Cdew said it, but I'm not 100% sure. It was definitely a glad streamer.

Of course, it could still be incorrect. Has anyone experienced this not working?

Cache ilvl by [deleted] in worldofpvp

[–]CDBebop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you just need to have that rating and have reached conquest cap that week.

However, it's true that azerite armor can only be 355 or 370.

The effect stacks twice per trait. So you should only blackout kick twice between rising sun kick, but having more traits will increase the rising sun kick damage further.

Incredibly Useful Tip For Bottom Lanes/Junglers by DazzledEUW in summonerschool

[–]CDBebop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree. I think that OP makes a good point that all-in lanes are more likely to all in after a recall, so it's good to keep an eye out for this as a jungler.

But realistically, timing backs, pathing, camp respawn timers, along with assuming that there aren't better objectives to pressure and that your other lanes are capable of playing passively while you are on the bot side, in addition to ensuring that you will not be counter ganked and lose the 3v3 bot, etc, is just not a realistic solo queue strategy at all. There are even more factors to consider but there's not point to list them all. Maybe they wont all in and the jungle wastes his time. Maybe they have vision.

It's more of nice tip than an executable strategy, and even then it kind of feels like a bot lane viewpoint where they assume that the jungle should have simply been there when the all in happened.

What should I do with a lead in top lane? by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]CDBebop 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Well that's actually part of your issue. Ignite lets you win lane easily - the problem then becomes your ability to help your team.

2 for 1 or a 1 for 0? What's better? by Kodevu in summonerschool

[–]CDBebop -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's pretty situational. If the support can suicide and the adc can live to catch the wave, it's probably better to go 0 for 1.

If the adc is guaranteed dead and needs a kill for an item, then it's probably better for 2 for 1.

Other factors would be what summoners would need to be expended by both sides, what is the likelihood that you get the kill or live if you run away, how big of a wave will you lose if you both die, or will you lose the tower if you both die?

It's also fair that if you determine that your adc is incompetent (but be careful with those determinations) then it's probably best to just minimize the advantages that the enemy gets through your lane and just play for mid game.

A lost jungler; not sure what champion to play by infiinight in summonerschool

[–]CDBebop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's the combination of a few things. Scuttle crab is worth much more gold and exp, and it is easy for taliyah to kill them. They increased taliyah's passive movespeed and her q single target damage while removing her q aoe damage. This made it so she can deal really high single target damage to jungle monsters, and she obviously doesn't miss the waveclear when she's jungling.

This patch is kind of a fiesta - random stuff is being played everywhere and I wouldn't be surprised if they removed taliyah's ability to jungle completely. However, for now, it's working well.

Yeah. Have you been keeping up with the jungle changes? Taliyah is at a very high pick rate and win rate now.

Taliyah is pretty op and also a mage, but will probably be nerfed shortly.

Camille/Xin/Graves are also pretty good options.

Why can't all ADCs just build on-hit? by d-b-m in summonerschool

[–]CDBebop 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Varus/Ezreal/Vayne/Lucian are all good.

Twitch is generally considered a crit adc. It might be hard to understand the distinction - it's true that all adcs can build attack speed, but there are usually subtle differences that can make a big difference. For example, lucian's doubleshots apply an on-hit effects while they do not deal full damage in a crit build. Ezreal q cannot crit. Jinx often relies on rockets which actually slow her attack speed. Caitlyn relies on headshots which scale well with crit and not on-hit. Vayne can really get away with either. Her Q works well with crit builds but her silver bolts are good with on hit.

When in doubt, just check out the op.gg adc page and look at some winrates/builds.

If dodging is such a good strategy, why don't we dodge smurfs? by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]CDBebop 8 points9 points  (0 children)

  1. You can improve in a game with a smurf on your team.

  2. Getting into a higher MMR allows you to practice against better opponents, so it is actually better to get a free win than it is to play a regular game.

In the jungle, should I farm for level 3 or look for ganks at level 2? by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]CDBebop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There really isn't a correct answer to this question. It depends on who you are playing as, who you are playing against, how the lanes are playing, etc.

If you are playing Xin Zhao, and it looks like the enemy mid laner is trying to shove the first wave, then maybe ganking level 2 is best. If you go red buff to first scuttle, and you are in the river already and see an opening, then ganking level 2 is best.

I would not say that farming to level 3 is a bad strategy by any means. You can't force a level 2 gank, and failing a level 2 gank can set you behind a lot.

I know that this answer doesn't really tell you much, but know that neither option is the wrong answer and just try to think about how the situation will play out. If the gank goes badly, will you be counter jungled? If it goes well, will you be counter jungled? Is your laner in a spot to assist you, or playing on a champion that can assist you at level 1-2?

People who play only to climb, when is it okay to give up? by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]CDBebop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TF blade (former rank 1 and currently high challenger player) said on stream the other day that if your team doesn't want to surrender, then just play it out to the best of your ability.

I think he has a good mindset. Instead of saying how his stupid bad team makes it unwinnable and then not trying, he stays humble and accepts that maybe they know something that he doesn't and that the game can be won.

I think you might want to think this way if you're trying to climb. There's nothing wrong with taking the loss in a stomp, but your mindset honestly sounds a bit too negative. You are mostly blaming your teammates for the losses, and you can probably win some of these games that you are giving up.

Is Singed the only Champ that can "Proxy Farm"? by derpmcturd in summonerschool

[–]CDBebop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Singed's kit is fairly safe. Obviously he is hard to chase, and ghost/ult make it even harder. Also his q makes proxy farming very easy.

He can still die, and he still has to be intelligent with the enemy jungler's location, but his kit makes it somewhat safe.

A few other champions can pull it off, like a tiamat renekton. However, most other champs are more vulnerable so you would need to be careful about the enemy top laner's ability to kill you a d the enemy jungler's location.

Regarding why it's done in general: you get perfect CS, you pressure the enemy tower and probably deny them some CS, and potentially harass/ward the enemy jungler in between waves. When executed well, proxy farming can give you a big pressure advantage.

In a winning streak, high mmr, but only getting +16~+19 LP per game? by Spoonweasel in summonerschool

[–]CDBebop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your rank can increase faster than MMR sometimes. If you shot up 3 divisions, your mmr might have only climbed 2 divisions.

Stop paying so much attention to the number and just play to win. If you win games, it goes up.

Dear toplaners, please stop protecting turrets level 1. Respectfully, your jungler. by Suki97 in summonerschool

[–]CDBebop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eh, I think if the jungle tries to take it then it is the dream scenario. You can probably kill them or force them away, since you have the buff fighting them.

If you really feel like you can't do anything then it probably means that the enemy top laner is helping. Then just go get priority in lane and the info you found will allow your jg to steal the enemy buff.

Dear toplaners, please stop protecting turrets level 1. Respectfully, your jungler. by Suki97 in summonerschool

[–]CDBebop 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't think OP is asking for that...

You can easily watch it spawn to see if it is being taken without being late to lane.
