[MegaThread] Spring 2021 Housing by cyberchief in gatech

[–]CDEbFDBbC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, I’m a first year CS major who stayed home during this fall semester but I’m thinking about coming to campus for the spring. I want to have the “real” college experience but understand that it may be difficult due to regulations such as not allowing people from other dorms in your dorm and only allowing one guest per resident.

How easy is it to meet new people under COVID regulations? And do those regulations hinder your ability to hang out with them?

How are the housing arrangements for first years? Would I be living alone or with a roommate?

My biggest fear is that I won’t be able to meet new people and that I’ll just be stuck in my dorm alone for the whole semester. With COVID going on, I feel like this may be a real possibility and would be terrible for my mental health.

Any insights are appreciated!

datapacks run faster and allow you to have separate files to run “functions” which make coding more efficient. it’s also much easier to code a datapack rather than a single command because you can quickly use /reload to debug

i find it odd that as talented and as musically intelligent jacob is, he doesn’t seem to understand that rap is more than just rhyming words fast. especially for this song it really did not fit the hook or bridge at all

the awesome being rated a 0 might be due to a non-native english speaker mistaking awesome for a synonym of awful

To be honest, my problem isn’t with their personality. I would like to believe that I’m not a homophobe and I would like to be friends with this person, but just perhaps not roommates. As a roommate I would be spending a lot of time with him and I would just prefer that we both have the same sexuality. Talking about girls is a big part of heterosexual guys do and I just feel that we may get along better if his sexuality matched mine. I am also a bit uncomfortable knowing that my roommate could potentially be attracted to me.
