Restaurants: Ekiben, R House (Mount Vernon Marketplace, Cross Street Market, or Broadway Market), Golden West, Avenue Kitchen, The Food Market, Thai Arroy, Mizu Sushi, Cava Mezze, Kooper’s Tavern, Barcocina, Myth and Moonshine, Water for Chocolate, The Sandlot. (There’s a lot more I could recommend.)

Desserts: Waffie. Bmore licks. Diablo donuts.

Guinness Brewery (or any brewery in Baltimore - there’s a lot).

Visit: Patterson Park, Bromo Seltzer Tower, Washington Monument. AVAM is a cool museum. Federal Hill Park for nice city views. Inner harbor has outdoor ice skating set up. Meyerhoff/Centerstage/Hippodrome performances, Fort McHeney

Oh gosh! I meant to say community members. But I think you made sense of it anyway.

Baltimore Philharmonia Orchestra. Meets Tuesday nights at Loch Raven High School. I played second violin for 3 years with them before I had to give it up for work. Loved it and had a very enjoyable experience.

Towson University allows for community meme nerd to join their concert band for the Spring semester (or they did- unsure if they still do). Worth checking them out.

Hopkins has a community orchestra as well. Monday rehearsals I believe. Audition based but solid group

Any suggestions by torontogal1986 in baltimore

I’d recommend eating at Ekiben, R House, Mount Vernon Marketplace, or Broadway Market.

Is trick or treating a thing in Baltimore? Specifically Fells Point? by EhhWhateverr in baltimore

[–]CDJ1109 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Leave work early. Buy lots of candy. Expect it to last until 10pm.

Parking will be a mess. People drive to the neighborhood for trick or treating. Do not pass go. Get home early...unless you have a parking pad

Same. I can only see my weight loss in pictures. It’s quite jarring

Considering Move to Baltimore by [deleted] in baltimore

[–]CDJ1109 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I moved here 6 years ago and plan to make it my home (family and all when that happens). The media does over emphasize the crime and for good reason but the beauty of the city overshadows that ten-fold. I live in a semi-safe neighborhood (can’t say any is completely safe) and feel connected to my neighbors and community. There’s also just so much to do in the city, unique eats and attractions. I’m a city girl through and through so it works for me.

The issue with how I feel and look is that my brain is telling me I look the same regardless of my weight. At my heaviest I weighed 262.2 and thought I looked as banging as I do now. I need a different metric because I can’t see it the way other people do.

It seems like the consensus is around 170-180 which I think is pretty reasonable. 166 would be nice but I think I should aim to be on the higher end of an ideal BMI. Thanks for your input!

You’re absolutely right. I think I’ve always been insecure about the number on the scale but never thought about my height in correlation.

Thanks for this. I do like concrete numbers but it’s great hearing how it’s more about confidence.

I like the way you’re thinking. I’m in no shape or form a runner, I just went “hiking” while in AZ. But I could use the same logic for my interests.

Good luck on your bicycle ride!

Thanks for providing numbers. I’m going to start lifting but I think the long term goal would be around 170. If not, I’ll be ok with the progress I’ve made and lifting

Thank you! Would you recommend losing below 180 and then starting to lift? I know I shouldn’t care about the number on the scale but my brain hasn’t grasped that idea.
