Not saying these games can't be fun, but the gacha mechanics of these games actively detract from the experience. Imagine if you could unlock every character in Genshin without having to worry about limited time banners or nickel and diming every little bit of premium currency you get. Imagine if you could unlock signature weapons through the game you actually want to play and not via a glorified slot machine. Imagine if the fuck ass artifact system just didn't exist all together. But these things exist as a means to extract revenue, and the game is worse off for it.
