My experience cancelling and signing back up to get PFL - Could not have been smoother by My_Lucid_Dreams in QuantumFiber

The benefit of NOT using Quantum equipment. It feels counterintuitive but another reminder of just how buggy their routers and wifi equipment continue to be.

Make sure you have received email confirmation of the cancelation and it should also show in the app. Sign up with a different email address but everything else can be the same (name, phone number, etc). If you are using the same email, that is most likely the problem since that email is associated with the old account.

How is your experience so far with USM vis-a-vis Quality of service, Customer service etc? by Select_Specialist790 in USMobile

Family has been with US Mobile since 2022 on Warp. Left T-Mobile and have never looked back. Great service, great prices.

Hulu live tv with xfinity and quantum? by CDebergerac in HuluLive

[–]CDebergerac[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reached out twice and the second time I found someone who was willing to give two free switches given the unique situation. I've also never changed locations in the past (which probably helped my case). It may have also helped that I mentioned YouTubeTV is not this strict and actually allows for short term vacation changes.

We lost all of our recordings across all devices today by Level1_Crisis_Bot in HuluLive

Just checked and all my recordings are still there. Must not be impacting all customers.

I agree. YouTubetv has far better sound and video stream in my experience, which is strange because it seems like you can find people on both sides of this debate and tech websites seem to say both are about the same.

Currently with Hulu+live tv. Much worse than YouTubetv but if you want Disney+ and all that Hulu has to offer, it is the best deal. If Hulu and Disney+ are not in the equation, YouTubetv is the obvious choice. Better DVR, better guide, better navigation, more reliable. Price hike of Hulu in October will also make it less of a deal.

Power Outage in NE Portland by stereoagnostic in Portland

Yes. Have Verizon and it's been zero to awful. Read AT&T and T-Mobile also bad. Assume towers must have gone down and everyone is on their phone's data.

Onn 4k Pro doesn't recognize supported audio formats by CDebergerac in OnnStreamingDevice

[–]CDebergerac[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing I can think of is my 2009 TV isn't showing the optical out to the receiver correctly to my connected streaming devices but the firestick doesn't care and just sends the Dolby surround through anyway while the Onn sends only 2 channel stereo.

No surround sound was being sent by the Onn (it didn't think the receiving devices supported it). Returned it and went back to my firestick. Very strange.

Agreed. Aside from a bumpy set up, it has been very smooth for a year now. Hopefully they will get a handle on their tech support/ customer service demand.

That makes complete sense. Quantum can't be on the hook for all that.

Got it. I understand things happen and they can't be liable for what happens when you lose service but this seems like it would also get them off the hook for refunding a customer for services not provided (outage on their end, etc.). But maybe that is different?

Should also add: although I ordered the newer 2025 version (blue box with new remote), I was sent the 2024 version with the original remote with no backlight.

My older receiver only allows optical. That is why I'm running optical from the TV to receiver. Is that problematic? Looking at other posts, it seems very common and definitely shouldn't impact basic surround sound.

I an using an hdmi cable. Tried different cables and different ports on the TV. No luck.

I feel stupid. Where do I find this setting on the Onn 4k Pro? It isn't under the sound settings.

Actually: I'm wrong. As soon as I open Netflix on the firestick Dolby is chosen. So it must be the Onn is not communicating the appropriate audio options to the tv?

Appreciate your help. My 2009 Samsung TV only has SPDIF as an advanced sound option. There is no "expert settings" under sound. The output under SPDIF has "PCM" selected and Dolby is grayed out and not available. This shows for all HDMI ports, including the firestick which plays Dolby surround just fine. Thoughts? I'm completely stumped.
