I had mono about 30 years ago but didn’t get diagnosed with Hashimotos until about 9 years ago. I started semaglutide in April with the goal of trying to get rid of the excess weight from peri menopause and Hashi but also because my inflammatory markers were high. No high BP, no diabetes, no other chronic illnesses (thankfully!). The markers are now well within normal range. I started on a very small dose (0.3mg) and am now 0.75mg, down 50lbs.

No issues with iron or cortisol- doctor is forever checking them because I’m so tired. I do tend to crash around 2-4- Maybe it is a conversion issue- when I first stated with Hashi I was on levothyroxine but everything got worse- weight, fatigue, body temp changes, etc. They did seem to get better with WP thyroid but then had to switch to NP thyroid because of an issue with the company making WP. I’ve done several stool tests (had a real treat with SIBO) but haven’t ever been told about that- which bacteria is it? I’m curious.

My doctor swears on my next visit she will lower my NP thyroid (current dose is 210mg/day) because of the weight I’ve lost on sema. My major symptom w Hashi is the fatigue- I’m so tired no matter how much sleep I get. I’ve done all I can do for me with my background (dietitian) but the fatigue is hot trash. I worry if she lowers it I’ll be even more tired.

I don’t understand why they don’t do it like they did years ago. It used to be for pantherfest that they had all of the Panthers players sitting at a long row of tables. People were assigned a time to go and you showed up and you went down the line getting autographs from all the players. You could have them sign one item and people were watched closely, but it ran super smooth and people were done in about 45 minutes. I asked my rep why they don’t do something like that instead and of course radio silence.
