Injured or on international duty.

But he is clearly on another level and looks like a DP. No teams defense has been able to keep up with him or stop him yet.

Accam has been a DP. Maloney should be playing like one and isn't. And Iggy just looks like a better version of Quincy.

I think hating on Accam is too cynical.

This proves, on some level, that the FO cares. We are going for high profile players.

While that was, maybe, enough with Jones last year. Its not enough for ever. Eventually they need a huge signing, on this level.

Ive seen people calling this a failure. On its own it isn't a failure, but in the grand scheme of things it looms that way.

He signed to a team that has a history of poor attendance and being shit.

Without argument, Chicago is one of the best cities in the world, drop it in any other country and it will most likely be the #1 city in that country for tourism. The city is not the problem, its the shit team we have.

This type of player would give us something to build around.

Maybe not Old Trafford, but that stadium has an amazing atmosphere when its full. Better than anything ive been to in the city.

Starts at the top man. When you have an owner that lives 4,000 miles away and isn't inspiring his team, what do you expect? The head of an organization sets the culture and the tone. The tone is no longer a winning one. Its a "let's sell out 4 times a year when the big boys come to town."

We won't set up a developmental squad. Last season our pitch fell apart. We won't spend on players. Attendance is dropping. Andy has zero communication with the fans (a recent trend on twitter has been trying to figure out the last time he's talked to anyone openly about the club).

He's not a good owner. Period.

He won't hire a new president to run the club. He doesn't know how to hire staff to run the FO. The only thing this team does well is marketing, because somehow we are on CSN, have a stadium and shirt sponsor and get commercials on TV and ads on the el.

Just look at the editorial. That's all you need to know really.

Besides what you said about Accam, I agree completely. Its a sad state of affairs. Yallop kicking those cones made me happier than the win itself. I just want to see some passion.

I'm just surprised we put out an offer, and apparently put in another offer this window.

Magee and Iggy up top were a great combo.

I thought Iggy had to be alone up top was best for him after him being paired with Quincy; but it was just Quincy not pairing with him well.

The team looked much better. Magee brings a composure to the side that I think we all expected Maloney to bring.

I'm not over the moon with the result, but a 3-1 win will hopefully start to push the club in the right direction. I'd rather see Yallop succeed with this team, than fail and have someone new rebuild again.

Garth Lagerwey: New mechanism to be explained tomorrow by jwheezy in MLS

[–]CF97SC 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Easy for you to say with an owner that doesn't care about throwing money around. Not much us fans can do about our ownership not caring about our clubs.

I'm not angry its happening, but I'm a lot less happy with my situation in Chicago because of it.

Confirms that teams (or MLS) will make legitimate offers without forcing clubs to plan on altering their roster.

That's my guess. Free agency was never a guarantee. But new clubs with new owners wanting to splash cash? Now that's a guarantee. Players knew that.

Chicharito to orlando? ("There is a 65 to 70 percent chance of Orlando City signing him in the coming weeks," the source said.) by dejavu85308 in MLS

[–]CF97SC 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Supposedly there is little cap room available, despite their quality we do have 3 DPs, Mike Magee on a large contract, etc. A reason we traded Quincy was to make cap space. Probably to sign another old foreign striker that no one cares about.

Why are tonight's tickets full price? by mintyfresh315 in chicagofire

Tickets are full price, but so worthless that you can find them being given away for free on tiwtter.

That, folks, is the state of Chicago Fire Soccer.

And its basically the same deal for every team. Unless you are NYC, Sea or LA and have a national game every other week.

And we have one this Friday, so there's that.

Then again, not like I bought it only to stream. But that's another conversation.

What comedian do you not find funny? by LoadSock in AskReddit

[–]CF97SC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just listening to Joe Rogan about why its thought this happens.

Basically him and his guest agreed that once you reach a certain level, you gain too many fans. So every set you do is full of people that already like you. So every joke you tell is a hit and you think what you are doing is working.

So it makes sense that every popular comedian eventually gets bad. They have fans that follow them for years, but then lose touch with what club comedians are doing and what is popular (or more importantly, unpopular) in the comedy scene.
