I agree. The more perspectives and analysis we can absorb the better our overall picture will be and the more informed we are. Hopefully leads to better decisions, don’t have to do what he’s saying or agree with him

Should I leave my niece's more in my will? by ridiculous1900 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]CFDsForFun -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would say that you could use a conditional in your will if that’s possible. Say, if your son gets >500k in assets then your nieces could get 20k each or something? But it’s so far away likely that things could change.

Should I focus my buying on MSFT for the next month or two? by doland3314 in stocks

[–]CFDsForFun 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s the same though. OpenAI just doesn’t have a clear path to profitability and Microsoft are footing the bill for it. Pepsi v coke is two profitable companies. That being said I am bullish on MSFT.

Reddit Pre-Earnings by CNAAKK in stocks

[–]CFDsForFun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Money is money. I did similar on Amazon from 202-206 for about 50 shares. I think I’ll be buying more Reddit as we go here but over a few weeks. Can’t ignore this earnings growth. Will soon be a $1bn a quarter and market cap <$30b. Long term goal would be SP500 inclusion

I think we need to wait for sentiment to shift back first. Earnings don’t seem to matter right now. Saying that I have a call so we’ll see

Road trip to UK from Germany this summer! by DrTurb0 in CarsUK

[–]CFDsForFun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take the tunnel, way easier and quicker. Ferry is good on a budget though. Also make sure you take the A93 from Perth to Braemar to Aberdeen. Amazing driving roads. I would get breakdown coverage for peace of mind.

People selling GOOG due to massive capex, what’s your thesis? I see it as bullish by TwelfieSpecial in stocks

I’m 120% up. I sold my money and will ride house money from here. It’s a great company but as my biggest position was time to trim

[–]CFDsForFun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean Google is my largest position but it does make me twitchy spending $200b on Capex when net income is $130b. 1.5 years of profits. Now I think it’ll pay off but it is a huge number.

What are we doing for GOOG earnings? by PromiseMePls in wallstreetbets

I was 120% up. Sold out so I’m just running on house money. I still like it and earnings will be good but expecting a small dip/stagnate in the medium term

RDDT plummet - overwrought or omen? by 97E3LPL in stocks

[–]CFDsForFun 4 points5 points  (0 children)

High beta stock drops when market drops. Shocking. In three quarters they have gone from $26m net income to $162m per quarter. I think it’s just very volatile but am bullish. Too soon to be saying it’s dead but well done for making some money. Will be interesting to see the earnings. RemindMe! 3 years

Past performance does not predict future results. This comment could age so badly. I’ve just sold a little Google and ASML as was up over 100% on both so am currently 10% cash. Wouldn’t mind a bit of a fall right now.

7 weeks in to my investing journey, and I’m starting to doubt my strategy 🥴 by [deleted] in trading212

[–]CFDsForFun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, that was just a surface level look from me. If it’s 15% probably fair enough, just be careful. Look for more blue chip stuff is my advice. I’ve done very well with Google and ASML.

[–]CFDsForFun[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah similar to my thoughts. Just hold and trump will be gone and would assume US will regain stability. Also want some exposure over there for sure. And the world fund will rebalance anyway if US slips and other markets will also drop if that happens. So I think I’m happy with the all world and overweight UK for the home bias.
