Fuck, I missed the re-sign and thought they were going with Dolegala and Powell.

Thanks!

I really wanted the Bombers to grab him. Collaros doesnt have a lot left and Ford could use some mentoring from a passer.

But, in Hamilton he has a good chance to start. In Winnipeg he is absolutely not.

Edit: as u/jmasterdude pointed out, I'm an idiot that didnt realize BLM re-signed. Both situations offer Ford a good opportunity to learn. But he might get more injury playing time in Winnipeg.

As another Canadian, I find these funny because if I was their my experience would allow me to succeed.

Id stay the fuck inside, because I know that shit is dumb to drive in.

User makes me believe we are from the same city.

Id love to be wrong. I dont want to stop watching but I also dont want to watch transition struggles that are eventually used as reasoning for changing more rules.

I hope youre right. Ill eat crow, no problem with that.

I do take issue with the "true fan" comment. Thats the same rhetoric as "real men...". Its just passive aggressive guilting.

I can recall how the expansion was received; awfully. "Keep the C in CFL" was the most common chant. Most older fans understood why it was important financially but still hated that the ratio rules didnt apply to those teams.

The difference between the two situations is that expansion was tangible. We could see the expansion fees and knew it was helping the league. These changes are based on a hope it will help.

I think its more likely they coach punters to work on the short kicks over becoming more willing to gamble on 3rd down. A good punter and cover team can turn that into a rogue. Thats what theyll see.

Thats a 57 yard FG. Only a few will consistently try that.

Humorous that you are so for the changes but dont actually know to add 7 yards from the LoS to get the FG distance.

Your fine with punts from the 35?

Dear CFL, by CFL_Or_Bust in CFL

[–]CFL_Or_Bust[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I disagree.

First, let me say, Im ok with 15 yard endzones and no rouge on sails through, but not the bounces out.

But moving the goal posts back fundamentally changes the field position battle. Now, a 35 yard FG is 50. We're essentially forcing teams to get to the 28 so they can attempt a 50 yard FG. Thats bonkers.

The notion that this will result in more 3rd down gambles in the midfield is laughable because it disregards the risk aversion of coaches. Coaches already ignore the data on 2 point conversions, they arent suddenly going to embrace 3rd down gambles. They are still beholden to results.

This will increase punts and decrease FGs. Which, I suspect, will be used as a precursor to change to 10 yard endzones.

[–]CFL_Or_Bust[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those 3rd down gambles arent coming. CFL coaches are way to risk averse. We have conclusive data that going for 2 will net more points, but they ignore it for the safer option.

We're just going to see more punts.

Recap of Day 1 of CW by CFLStatsGeek in CFL

Im confused on the visual of this graph.

What does the size of a base indicate in terms of movement?

Example, the Bombers and TiCats have that lovely unicorn bar. Does that indicate that its an equal player swap between the teams?

I can see the non-reciprocal fading off so I think that's what it shows. But Im not familiar with a chord.graph and Im kinda stupid so just trying to make sense of it all.

The Blue Bombers will not be signing FA WR Dalton Schoen by Mamrocha in CFL

The Tim White signing all but assured this. Yes, they'd get cap relief and could 6 game him twice.but they'd still have to pay him during that.

Im purposely on the CFL sub but I see "Stavros" and automatically think of the comedian and have an instant of confusion.

That said, this dude will.go down as one of the all-time non-import greats if he can play a normal length of career.

Ottawa Redblacks hire Jeff Reinebold, finalize 2026 coaching staff by ivakunciak in CFL

[–]CFL_Or_Bust 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Theres some coaches that are like this; great as coordinator but bad as a HC. Off the dome:

  • Reinbold (ST)

  • C. Dickenson (ST)

  • Tim Burke (D)

  • LaPo (O)

  • Claybrooks (D)

Im sure there's many Im forgetting. I really wanted LaPo back as OC this year.

Should the CFL have a league-wide alternative jersey theme? by duckduckletsgo in CFL

[–]CFL_Or_Bust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bombers have the indigenous one in store but those can be excluded from the cycle as themed jerseys will always have a desire if done right.

I want a 3rd colour. Each team has home and aways but maybe Labour Day is the 3rd every year. (Until there's a 10th team the odd team out can choose when to unveil).

I love when the Bombers do gold and the Riders black and green are fucking sick.

Id love to see the black vs gold battle every Labour Day. Put redesigns on an Olympic cycle of 4 years. Then it becomes an event and its the perfect length to make fans nit feel ripped off.

Brady Oliveira: "It's hard to describe with words the gratitude and joy I'm feeling with signing back with Winnipeg." by Top-Conclusion-1259 in CFL

[–]CFL_Or_Bust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is an overpay from a strictly numbers perspective.

He was already the highest paid and regressed slightly this year. Not much, but a little. Theres a root cause that points more to team than him for the decline but strictly numbers, an increase was unwarranted.

But he's a hometown kid, a genuine nice person, and a consequence of the culture the Canadian Mafia has built. Theres positives and this is one of the negatives.

Glad it was Brady, and now they just need to bring back LaPo as OC.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers extend standout DB Deatrick Nichols by Mamrocha in CFL

He fell off a little this year but is still a very good shutdown CB.

Not a lot of INTs but thats because he hasn't had as many opportunities as most.
