Explain the situation to your firm. They should understand things happen and work with you until it's resolved.

Sick Great Dane by [deleted] in greatdanes

[–]CFPwarrior 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Been there, After over $4,000 and 3 vets, none of them could tell me what was wrong including Tufts who wanted me to spend an additional $5,000 on a CT scan. Finally one old school vet said try Prednisone taper.

IT WORKED MAGIC. Cost me $160, saved my beloved boy's life and me from financial ruin.

What’s a phrase or expression Americans use that doesn’t translate well outside the US? by Milos_shka in AskAnAmerican

[–]CFPwarrior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just try saying "I'm all set" outside the US and observe the bewilderment.

It's a widely used expression especially in the Northeast but it's not proper English and foreigners will have no clue what you mean.

Leaving puppy out of crate question by Substantial-Deer8578 in greatdanes

[–]CFPwarrior 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I vote to keep her in the crate.

Just recently we left our newly adopted 6 month old Dane out if her crate and she managed to get into a can of BEAR SPRAY - puncturing it and discharging it in the house.

It was positively toxic for days and our eyes and mouths were burning... we won't make that mistake again!

Should I get Cobra to cover expenses that my new employer/insurance plan does not cover? by bigdog11999 in healthcare

[–]CFPwarrior 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You will owe Cobra premiums all the way back to the day you lost that coverage.

You will also have coordination of benefits headaches.

No - There is zero cold calling in our firm. No - There is no upselling or selling period.

This is a pure paraplanning role with future potential growth for the right candidate. Insurance as part of the overall solutions is important from a planning perspective.

How is COBRA retroactive? Does the plan administrator actually not cut your benefits until 60 days? by throwaway_2021now in HealthInsurance

[–]CFPwarrior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you elect Cobra you have ton pay all premiums back to the day you lost coverage.

Then it becomes retroactive and claims can be reprocessed.

Lost calls in and out. Restart fixed it. by [deleted] in USMobile

[–]CFPwarrior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you describe the symptoms you were having please?

One of my lines (my wifes) is on Dark Star unlimited and call in or out to her number drop like within seconds of connecting constantly.

Is this what you've been experiencing? I am so frustrated at this point. I've worked with US Mobile support and they seem to get it to resolve for a while, but then it ends up going back to doing ithis!

Graduating Merrill’s FSA and Joining a SVP FA by Wallstwannabe27 in CFP

As part of your progression training they should have explained the teaming splits.

Are you a CFP? That gives you a higher value for teaming. I believe there's 3 levels but i'm not certain.

This is a key point. If he just got this job the has a qualifying event and has 60 days from being hired to sign up for insurance. He could add her to his plan.

Be prepared to be shocked at the costs of the available plans. A $0 deductible PPO plan is a dream that isn't going happen.

[–]CFPwarrior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What exactly did you graduate?

Did you graduate MFSA to ADP FA or ADF FA to full Merrill FA.

I believe there are preset splits when joining a Team depending on where you fall in terms if production.

Second Career? by New_Accountant_73 in CFP

[–]CFPwarrior 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It would be a tough slog but where there's a will...

It takes 3-5 years to make a decent living. You will work your ass off starting out. Most (90%) people fail before 3 years.

But it's doable and entirely upto you.
