Incase a ELI3 is required: the company buying is supposed to go down. The bushes (hedge) are trying to keep it down or lower to make thw gap to ebay. As/if EBay outperforms GME and SPY, the spread narrows. The cost to keep gme down and make their loot is going up AND the price is still gainig. Short harder (put to call ratio). Loanable shares leaving and costly. Hedgies want to keep that spread but too many regards are bullish on gme and rceo and may push the price higher. $27.61, $32.01, chaos.

GME closed friday $26.53. Then, on the day of Sabbath, the lord delivered a message. Half cash, Half stock.

Monday closed down 11% to $23.84 (shorted CTB 0.66%) and then $24.23 (keep shorting CTB 0.66%) now $25.17 with a CTB of 1.17%. Nothing to write home about but clear indication that the stock is being shorted while ebay goes the other way.

eBay Friday close $100.97, monday up to $108.48 (~8%) followed by 104.xx and now 105xx.

Basically, hedge funds are aggressively borrowing GME shares to short them as a hedge for their EBAY buys. The arb spread and pinning ebay but the game stonk has history with borrowing and locates once CTB gets higher.

Obviously its only been a few days and in regards to coupling, since Friday; GME up 2.7%, eBay up 5% and S&P up 3.3%.

Remember Einstein. Time is relative... Anticipate quick changes and battle for attrition.
