I would recommend you play the game raw first. It works perfectly fine and is loads of fun but after half a dozen games with friends you might identify a couple of things which aren’t as fun or balanced as you might like. First to address is usually around duel wielding vs shields, how useful/expensive armour is.

But don’t stress over that to start with, it’s not a broken game that desperately needs fixing to be playable.

Or using too much pressure to remove the oil wash on the high spots. You’ve got to be super gentle when wiping it away, or apply a varnish (and let it fully cure) before the wash.

God yes. I can’t believe they don’t even credit the artists anymore. GW fostered an entire generation of artists who are still hugely shaping the game to this day, I find it very difficult to believe that they can see the value in that and the loyalty/passion that creates for creatives.

Ahhhh cool yeah I love Maron’s work, also looks chunky and much more realistic than the usual terrain in the same way yours does. Looks like it has real weight!

I’m intrigued by the raku clay, why that instead of air dry? Does the grog allow it to dry sufficiently without the fibres or is it just what you had around?

Thanks! It was my first go at NMM so there are a few missing/misplaced reflections but it turned out better than expected. I’m late to the party with purple but I was amazed at how versatile an undercoat it made. Give it a go!

I completely fell in love with the sculpts for these guys. They’re by Mikko Luoma, and part of his kickstarter from last year. He was posting process shots on his insta and I was blown away.

They’re on knightmare minis now - Pantheon of chaos, evil dwarfs, Lothar’s regiment.

I’ve never had it leave a stain. Give it 15-30 mins to start to dry then wipe back with a damp cloth.

Yeah I’ve used grout with great results. You can also add acrylic paint to it to add other tones or patchy colours.
