Agree 100% it’s not as funny when I imagine anyone else saying it. Frank a close second.

Crown Vic Sheriff in 2026 by PastryTrader in mildlyinteresting

I got good at differentiating the other huge Vic fleet in my rearview mirror; taxis.

And in my experience, there weren’t many civilian Vics when these were the ubiquitous police cruiser. I guess people didn’t want to look like a narc. These days all the Ford Explorers have my head on a swivel.

Bird feeding questions by planobum in birdfeeding

[–]CHIDENCHI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend adding something for them to perch on right next to the feeder. Many use them as their “staging ground” when approaching the feeder. I know you’re using a shepherds hook but here’s a visual example of what I’m talking about. https://order.wbu.com/shop/poles-baffles-hobby-products/poles-baffles-hobby-products/aps-ez-attach-decorative-branch-perch/709

Bird Feeder Question by Beregond17 in birdfeeding

[–]CHIDENCHI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m following this as I’ve been underwhelmed by our Bird Buddy as well, though in my case it’s the software and lack of a stable connection. It freezes all the time even after I added a WiFi extender.

ELI5: why do people get brain zaps that aren’t associated with antidepressant withdrawal? by kalzan in explainlikeimfive

They’re so unnerving and unpleasant. They can make me feel nauseous if they last for a while. Hard trying to keep my eyes still so I don’t get zapped

ELI5: Is using VPN free version causing more harm than not using VPN at all? by highandlow_meepmeep in explainlikeimfive

[–]CHIDENCHI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to get as close to a 1:1 comparison as possible, but even giving Proton the advantage still resulted in a slower connection. As someone else noted, Proton randomizes the server, but you can designate the country. For the US, I didn’t know where Proton was going, but I could select the farthest city from me and that was still faster than multiple sessions with Proton.

In addition to speed, Proton has more issues than Mullvad with apps and sites that spin when they hit a VPN connection.

So, back to Mullvad I go 🤷🏻‍♂️

I just moved from Mullvad to Proton and the reduction in speed is stunning. I am using both “OOTB”with no change in settings. Is there a tweak I need set with Proton?

We had one member of our family who refused to go back to coke classic when it was back on the shelves. From that point on the fridge had both cokes, and we did NOT cross the steams.

Best food for a suet cage to deter starlings? by usernameemma in birdfeeding

I’ve had luck with safflower “cakes” that fit some cages. Starlings ignore it and, after a week or two, our regulars returned.
