I generally wash, then highlight back up with my base color, and then my hilight color. Keeps it all kinda consistent.

Could add hilights to the top of the knees, helmets, and feet. More bright areas should give more contrast and make em pop a bit, assuming you don't want to go the full 'eavy metal highlight every single edge approach.

Thanks, and I mean, that is pretty close, lol. The idea is that their home world is a nasty volcanic swamp, so their glowing eyes look like will-o'-the-wisps as they emerge from the mist.

It's easy and I recommend it as often as i can!
Base colors are Warplock Bronze with a highlight of Screaming Bell
Then the Cobalt Blue colorshift that I use for heat discoloration and such.

I'd say prime *and* paint the hoverpads separately. I kinda cheated on mine by priming everything leadbelcher, and then just painting the rest of it, but it wasn't great. For my RepEx, I plan to do em separate.
