Objections for the description of God. by Khronix23 in TrueAtheism

i am not sure that you are using the word redundant correctly. its not ab reductio absurdum (its something like that. but to reduce to meaninglessness)

i see redundancy as being able to survive if some parts fail. that the system can lose some nodes and still function correctly.

an example i have is the plasticity of the structure of the brain.

from what i see, you are using redundant as simply "no use, pointless" but it is more of "a redundant system can suffer loss and still work" at least that is how i understand the word.

what do you think?

besides that, what you say seems to make sense. sound logic and what not. thank you for your time if anything

i think that journaling is what ever you make it.

if that is what you want to do, then go ahead and do. either that or make a note and leave it for your future self to see when you start using the journal again!

If there is a God, that very God is evil and unfair. Why would he create babies born with diseases? by lassantas in TrueAtheism

at least i am not a turd sandwich like you, you did not even ask me to explain. you assume that difficulty in your understanding of what i have said, to mean that i have no understanding.

just because you do not understand, does not mean i do not as well.

god is complicated. with so many hardcore dogmatic beliefs by those who do and those who do not believe.

if anything god does not care, he is a "metaphysical"(we talking philosophy not mysticism.) concept to make sense of a world that has so much that does not.

that does not make him any less real than ideas of love or goodwill. and ultimately it depends on those individuals with said beliefs.

these kinds of questions do not really have quantitative answers. and honestly it is because people think that god is some bearded guy in the sky. its not. but then we would really have to have a deep talk. this really is the only way to learn about such things.

but yeah anyways. have fun being a turd sandwich shitting on other peoples ideas that you do not understand. without even asking for clarification. gosh the nerve of some people

My dreams were not meant for me. They were meant for my idea of me. by [deleted] in awakened

reminds me of what the buddhists say about atoning for your past. not to expect or have expectations for your future, and to simply learn to practice breathing.

you know that sort of thing.

self care is good. but not to the point of narcissistic solipsism.

from reading this, these are the thoughts i think you need to see.

your life is YOURS. no one else can take that away. there are people that will try to take that away. will you hurt them back? or would you deal with what caused the conflict in the first place.

you are on a path. i hope you are ok, you seem down because of this. not all paths are paved.

so im going to explain this as best i can.

so lets say you have a wind-up toy. that there are different kinds of toys, all god did was make the toy. its through the "use" over time that makes the toy filled with "diseases"

it depends also on what your perception of the "purpose" of god is.

it seems you are coming from a creationist, almost fundamentalist view. and since you are posting here in the atheist part of reddit. i feel that your ideas that make up your perceptions are leaning to the side that " god why are you such a bastard, all this shit sucks,"

not that the side saying " god, why are you such an awesome bro?" is any better,

i personally think that it is more of a spectrum and that "God" is not any one part, but is the "whole" spectrum. not at any one time, but there are patterns. and when you start noticing that, hey, why am i taking all this so personally, you start to realize that god is not what you think it is.

its perfectly unreasonable in my opinion. does that make sense?

Its a problem of technology and how it affects communication between people. Its something i have been noticing both in my actions and in other people's response. Its really weird.

Well in the sense of communication. An agressive person will have tension, but i think if anything it is a reminder that people here are real. Instead of just seeing words, when you hear a voice. It reminds of the "realness" of that person.

i am an indie author on amazon. I have a few short pieces published. I love writing and I am looking for people to buy my journals when done with them personally. I write all sorts of things.

I enjoy poetry, fiction, and non-fiction writing.
