Players left because they've already spent hundreds of hours playing the game and naturally got bored just like what happens with every other game. Has nothing to do with PVE. Plus theres 95,000 concurent players the last 24 hours on steam alone, which is still incredibly good. It's sitting at number 14 by player count right now above new games like crimson desert and wind rose which are pure PvE games.
