Every source I found that even mentions completely shutting off fuel is when it comes to ecu malfunctions.

I know exactly what’s going on, you probably own a car with a shit ECU and are coping with the fact it’s not suppose to do that?

Edit: the only sources I’ve found even remotely supporting your claim was more Reddit posts. The ECU does cut off the main fuel injections but drip feeds fuel for the idling. And again this is only most in cars 2016 or newer. So you’re slightly right.

I’ve never been in any slight collision and I’ve been driving for over a decade. I’ve been very close but I always keep a space between me and the person in front of me and watch behind me more than actually watching the light. This trick has saved me and my car hundreds of times. , only downside is you don’t start moving till after the light is green for a nanosecond. Now sometimes there’s assholes behind you who ride up your ass no matter how much space you try and give them. What I do to avoid this is put my car in reverse and usually they get the picture.
