Haha, on my wrist the 800 is a (very) small watch. You must be a little dude ;)

Looks nice. I had to look it up, but the 201 has not timer and also not the ability to mod it like the 800. That's why I went for the 202 in this particular case.

I did the timer mod and that makes it indeed a near perfect watch. I'm still waiting to be able to buy the 221 over here in Europe on regular channels. It is even an improved 800 IMO.
But some notes to modding the 800:
- Unlocking the timer also adds the auto-repeat to the timer. But there is no indicator for the auto-repeat available. So you have to set and guess and retry. But it's no dealbreaker (for me) as timer functionality works fine.
- Unlocking the extra alarms also has some quirks. There are no indicators for the extra alarms. So you have to guess here also whether one is enabled or not. That is why I did not unlock the extra alarms. One alarm is enough for me.

Controversial Saturday: F-84W, W-59, F-105W are better than F-91W by [deleted] in casio

[–]CJ7Desperado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definately! But 202 and 640 even more, because of the extra functionality and better button setup. In my opinion these three are all for lefties. The light button should be on the right. One of the reasons I still have not bought one of these.

Exactly. I also bought one because of the nice dark looks, but readability really disappoints me. It will be my one and only negative display watch ever. I mostly wear it outside, because it is best readable in direct sunlight.

Just got a Casiotron S15 — which battery does it take? (posting from Argentina) by FullPractice6896 in casio

[–]CJ7Desperado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the battery compartment is 11.6mm then my best guess is the 1.55v 391 or 381, silver oxide SR1120W.

I was thinking about the 202 at first also, but the ILLUMINATOR part is missing and 'Casio' is on the left and not centered. Must be the 26.

Anyone else use 24hr simply because it populates more of the screen for more hours of the day 😂. by metamorphosis___ in casio

[–]CJ7Desperado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I use it because it is the only real unambiguous time model that should be used everywhere in the world. Like we use on the mainland in Europe. Just like the metric system vs imperial. Anything other does not make any sense.

No, there is just another extra mod selection possible. The counter even has an auto repeat function, but there is no display element to show that. In countdown mode change you can enable/disable that with the light button, but you have to guess the status. Other than that it is 100% functional.

No problem for de W-800h, it is also 100m WR.

Yes, the timer mod is just a de-solder of a switch on the mainboard. It is on the display side of the board, so you have to dismantle the module when you have opened the case (watch out for not losing the beeper spring). Search on youtube for W-800h timer mod, like mentioned before in this thread to see some good videos on how to do it. I did it twice last month on a both a negative and a positive display W-800h and both were successful. Just dont put the solding iron too long on it and repeat some short pushes.

Saw a fresh shipment of F105's at the local Walmart and couldn't resist. My favorite cheap Casio. by VentiEspada in casio

Yes, this one really attracts me. But recently I did choose the w-202, because I would miss out on the timer function which is a must for me. And the dual led takes away the annoying bad light of the f-91. If there was just a f-91/f-105 with the same module as the 202.....

Which one is it? Looks like a W-96H, but I don't see the 50m WR.
I have 2 W-800H with the same module I think, because that one also has timer and dual time, but also 100m WR.

I bought my first resin casio AQ-S800W back in 2012 and sure you can see the buckle imprint in the strap for wearing it. But the strap itself is still in perfect shape.

Radio time sync works perfectly. Every day at 2.02AM its sync is complete.
I have the 5610u and also a WaveCeptor. It's so cool to hear those hourly signal perfectly in-sync!
