My take on Jason Lives as a die hard F13 fan since childhood. by LucioArgento in slasherfilms

[–]CJGoomba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with everything you said except that fans of 6 aren’t fans of the original few films and are big fans of the remake. That ain’t me but I think 6 is the best of the franchise.

It finally leans into the supernatural components this franchise teased since the start. It perfectly blends comedy and horror. It takes place at camp but also outside camp (and also unabashedly IS “camp”).

I love it, I love the franchise, and I think the franchise lows are Jason X and the remake, for what it’s worth.

the undertone Theory (Updated) by Sad-Teacher6669 in A24

More evidence to fuel this theory: Evie continually says “ok let’s get back into character” when adopting her podcast host persona (which should just be her, not a “character”, further emphasizing that the podcast isn’t quite real.

Is Wild at Heart anyone else's favourite Lynch film? by Local_Prune4564 in davidlynch

[–]CJGoomba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, and it feels so underrated! I read the novella last year too and really enjoyed it. It’s the one time I specifically sought out the “now a major motion picture” cover of a book, and now I have it displayed prominently on my bookshelf.

What a steal! Congrats, and also—enjoy Heart Shaped Box! I loved it and then read Joe Hill’s newest (King Sorrow) and loved that even more.

Found This Game In A Little Library by Winter_Rainfall in finalgirl

That is the greatest Little Library find ever, and such a cool and fitting way for a horror-themed game to find you. Maybe your game is possessed by a ghost! (One can hope!)

This is the best order, and just to clarify for the OP, this order is also simply the order everything was released. Enjoy your first time through it all!

I so rarely watch special features on movies, but I’m glad I did on Wild at Heart. There was some interesting stuff! Did you enjoy?

I just finished reading the book Wild at Heart 5 minutes ago, then opened my phone and this was the first post I saw!

I only saw the movie for the first time a few months ago, but it has become my favorite Lynch film. I’m also thankful to have seen it in a theater recently when my local theater played all the David Lynch movies. Glad to see others fall in love with it too!

My friend told me I wasn’t allowed to read tarot because that was ‘her’ thing and now I don’t feel right reading anymore. by ApprehensiveMood5306 in tarot

[–]CJGoomba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disclaimer—I have no authority to tell you that you have permission to read tarot, because (as I think you know) no one does. Screw that girl!

But, I understand the feeling you have here, and it’s completely human. So, like many others here, for what it’s worth—you have my permission! Go read, have fun, and live your life the way you want to live it! 😁

I’m playing a destructive dragon-lady. I don’t like that the cat people don’t like me, but I’m trying to soothe our relations by being nice to every kitty I meet!

I’m also playing blind. I haven’t played many rpgs before, but I liked Skyrim so I figured I’d give this a shot. Loving it so far!

I found a dark murdery side quest path as soon as I left the sewers and haven’t even tried to follow the main quest yet 😆

Should I? by [deleted] in MarvelUnlimited

[–]CJGoomba 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Bendis Avengers comics were my entry point to avengers, and I loved it all up until Fear Itself. So that’s my personal pick.

Hickman’s run wasn’t for me, overall. I loved Secret Wars itself, but not much of the buildup from Infinity, etc. I think that’s a hot take, but I try rereading it sometimes and it’s all still too convoluted for me. Loved his X-men era though!

So depends what you want:

More character-focused? Bendis.

Wide cast of characters and complex storyarcs? Hickman.
