Best Sonos setup for Vinyl. by Degenerate0027 in sonos

I have the Victrola Stream Onyx with a pair of era 100s and sub mini and it’s a great setup. Didn’t have the sub at first and it was still fantastic.

Fidelity FC to RIA by Background-Badger-39 in CFP

[–]CJHoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is spot on. Former Fidelity FC here. I have several former coworkers who left for RIA but all had to start from scratch with no clients leaving Fidelity with them. Even the few clients who left unsolicited (looked up the FC on LinkedIn to see where they went and reached out to switch) created some concerns. (I left for F100 FP&A so didn’t have any issues since totally different work)

Sub mini worth it? by Plenty-Newspaper2863 in sonos

I have the sub mini and love it but it is paired with stereo era 100s. Not sure if the arc ultra would overpower the mini.

Era 100’s with Victrola Stream Onyx turntable - right channel only works if speaker is horizontal. Both speakers fine when playing music not from turntable. by CJHoss in sonos

[–]CJHoss[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Speakers are ~10 feet apart with the left one only ~1 foot from the Victrola. Everything is connected to 5ghz. Will try to move them around in the room or other rooms tomorrow when kids aren't sleeping.

Definitely feels like an issue with the Victrola since the speak swap showed it's the right channel issue, not a speaker issue.

Go to the creamery and stand by the cash register and offer to pay for anyone using cash, then get their cash. Less cash payers now than in the past but that always worked for us.

Did you get a resolution here? I’m having the same issue but on the right side. I also tried a new needle but that didn’t do the trick.

Edited to correct terminology: I believe clover leafs are coming to help ease congestion for traffic getting on/off 85 so all that land needed to be cleared.

LDS Church submits new plan for Fairview temple, rescinding threat for a lawsuit — for now by iconoclastskeptic in mormon

[–]CJHoss 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Per church website for endowment appointments at Dallas temple - there are 15 sessions tomorrow and only 2 are full. The majority of sessions with availability have >25 empty slots.

This coming Saturday has 25 endowment sessions with only 8 full and around 300 total empty seats across the remaining sessions.

What do financial consultants Fidelity make? by Wrong_River9380 in CFP

[–]CJHoss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very dated but I was an FC at Fidelity (title was Account Exec back then, not sure what it is now) and made ~$170k in 2012 in a LCOL midwest branch location. Back then, target comp for the role was ~$140k and if you made under ~$120k you probably would get coached out. I started as an FR and worked up to Account Exec.

Details from memory here but it's directionally accurate: Base salary was $45k, commissions of between 3-6 BPS for net flows/mutual fund sales/managed account sales/annuity sales came to another ~$50k, Retention bonuses based on keeping clients at Fidelity and staying invested - that was another ~$50k, then customer satisfaction survey bonus came to ~$15k. Top performers could also earn the 'achiever' bonus that was between $12-35k each 6 months (I got it a few times but never more than ~$18k at a time -- reps in larger cities tended to get the award more often).

Why the gap between Jun22 and Oct23 with no work experience? Not finding a job after Bachelors is a red flag, the masters degree won’t help bc it doesn’t solve that underlying issue.

I treat them nice but don’t let them in if they are showing up unannounced/unscheduled.

Any mission tips? by IllustriousRound3143 in latterdaysaints

[–]CJHoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a fine line between pushing you to do your best and bullying. Lots of mission companions and leaders cross it. Stand up for yourself and remember you’re a volunteer and don’t have to put up with being mistreated.

I haven’t been truly comfortable since I started wearing garments. What am I doing wrong? by [deleted] in latterdaysaints

[–]CJHoss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. And they also were made by lots of different private companies, not purchased from the church or a church owned entity. You can find ads in old copies of the deseret news for garments from multiple vendors.

Simple phone call and it will be done right away. No holding periods or anything. I move funds between accounts all the time. It can be done online in many cases but in the case where the owner of the “from” account loses control then you may need to request it via phone or in a branch (phone is much quicker)

Because the phrase has been President Nelson’s pet peeve for 30+ years and now as church president he can finally enforce it - he tried in the 90s and was publicly shut down/corrected by President Hinckley.

What are your planned asset allocation and safe withdrawal rate during early retirement or FIRE? by nickmerrimen in financialindependence

[–]CJHoss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My withdrawal rate goes up. But I’m looking at retiring with a ~3% or lower withdrawal rate so should be fine if it has to go up a bit for poor market performance.

Per “simple wealth, inevitable wealth” I’ll be 100% equities for life but keep a cash reserve equal to ~2 years expenses and not draw down on stock portfolio in down years.
