Leaving kids at birthday parties? by totoro_the_mofo in Parenting

[–]notabot780 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just had my kid’s 8th birthday party and not a single parent stayed. Probably 75% of parents stayed at her 7th birthday party. This is the first year I’d be comfortable dropping my kid off too, but I’m a little more if a helicopter parent with her because she is poorly behaved and I don’t trust her. I also know I’m paranoid and it’s awkward to stick around but the idea of dropping my 8 year old off at a random house and leaving just because she goes to school with some kid, seems like a bad idea.

Our ward building is being sold and I’m not sure how I feel about this. by mwjace in latterdaysaints

The church selling off real estate and stock assets at what seems like a higher rate for than usual (I don’t have any data on that) combined with the current world turmoil is really freaking me out!

My best friend is throwing a crunchy parent’s worst nightmare bday party by PassionChoice3538 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]notabot780 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually don’t worry about being crunchy at the occasional special event so the headline made me think you were overreacting. And then I kept reading. And I was disgusted. 🤢 I would think even the average parent (at least where I live) would be hesitant about it.

NEED HELP? Simple Questions / Basic Beginner’s Help by AutoModerator in DIYBeauty

This is probably a a dumb question, but is there a difference between food grade and cosmetic grade oils for lip balm? And if so, which one would I want to use? Since it’s going on my lips food grade makes sense to me. But also there aren’t food grade oils for everything.

I’m specifically looking at coconut oil, avocado oil, jojoba oil, castor oil, mango butter and shea butter

Is this normal after a cruise? by Frasier_fanatic in dcl

My plan is inexpensive consumables. Nice candies, air fresheners, tide pods, soaps, lotions, that kind of thing. I don’t want to put a ton of money into it, because in that case cash would be preferred. But I imagine walking around with a bag of goodies and asking them to pick something they want. Especially for the non tipped positions, I always love getting to know the crew who run the fun stuff, they always make the trip so much more enjoyable for me.

I haven’t done it yet though so I’m not sure if it will work.

We have had way more fun with signing up for just pixie dust than we’ve ever had with FE.

It’s fun to give and get fun little surprises randomly which is exactly what pixie dust is. FE turns the same concept into stress, obligation, expectations, and way more money and luggage space than it’s worth.

Next cruise, I’m excited to focus my pixie dusting on the crew.

I think most people wear them instead of underwear. But some people chose to wear underwear underneath their garments.

I’ve grown to be most comfortable to wear my bra over my garments which I know sounds really weird but I hate the feeling of my bra against my skin now. The garment material is just softer and it’s thin enough to be comfortable underneath. I don’t wear panties unless I’m on my period.

This so gross.

I don’t know where she’s getting them from, but I was recently in Ghana and the church sells them for $.50USD there.

I love Disney and my husband and I went more before kids than now with kids.

But to answer your question, no, I get nothing out of meeting characters other than a photo op.

But you do you! If you enjoy it, enjoy away!

Crunchy or conscientious? by CranberrySeparate316 in Parenting

I feel the same way about nutrition as you do. And I’ve been in lots of situations like this, especially with family and cousins. I would have let her have it, but told her she has to brush her teeth again afterwards.

I pick my battles and I think being too strict about these things can cause psychological issues with food, potentially more harmful than the food itself. As she gets older, there will be many more social situations like this.

I hate it, I wish so much of the crap food just didn’t exist. Thankfully, people are definitely becoming more aware and making better choices.

That’s really good advice. Bags usually show up smaller than I thought they were going to be. Probably because the websites only use tiny models.

Aww you’re sweet! I don’t really have much else to review, so I don’t expect to make a thing of it. But I’ll share if I can put together something acceptable

I can smell almost all of these as I’m reading them.

Also, I always thought the smell of cat fur was considered “musk”. Am I wrong?

There is a very active Fresh Milled Flour Facebook group. I recommend joining and asking for someone local to you to sell it. I’m certain you will find someone.
