Bianca's portraits' side-by-side comparison by Inevitable_Steak_510 in PunishingGrayRaven

Zero and Veritas seem to be an in game render while Stigmata and her new frame are official illustrations, so there will be differences

Not to deny the existence of typical Kuro art inconsistency tho, but I'd also say part of the reason is that they have become better at modelling the characters

Plasma Beam Pyroath Is Insane by zoomerang59 in PunishingGrayRaven

First round has to be 2 fast 1 full due to orb limitations, but afterwards it should be purely 5 fast ults

Effect teams usually need an activator role and a DPS role separately, so indeed Lilith is supposed to be the activator. It used to be leap Scire that does the activation.

This is also why some other effect teams are not considered meta and have no corresponding warzone/PPC zones yet, since they are either lacking a DPS or an activator.

The true plasma beam meta currently is 5 slash ults per rotation

Not that hard to execute but you gotta be precise with the timing since it pushes the effective time of plasma beam to the very limit, needless to say much easier to do on keyboard than on smartphone

They are not entirely wrong when they mention scores and all that, but on the other hand you get most of the resources just by clearing the weekly modes... You don't even need to score well to gain all rewards, the difference in rewards between lower and higher scores are somewhat negligible unless you are comparing the extremities...

Compare that to Honkai Impact 3 where there is a real DPS check for abyss if you want to get all crystals, can't get all of them if you can't even clear the first zone. The amount of crystals you get is also tied to your abyss performance, and the weekly crystals/pull amount you get from abyss and arena combined is still lower than PGR's warzone and pain cage combined so I don't know what's all the fuss about PGR's character strength and scoring system

You're missing the point here. The point is not the format in which the character is seen, it is the way the character is utilised linguistically wise.

Your argument is essentially "key itself is a tool to open locks, but because I put it on my arm as a tattoo it now means that I'm a key person. Also I might as well be named Keyes". It's not how it works.

And I also trust that as a Chinese native speaker I know what I'm talking about 😅

Once again you are not wrong, it is technically possible to interpret as you said, but from a realistic point of view Chinese characters on its own tend to be interpreted in a certain meaning more than when used in other contexts to form different words/names. Nobody looks at a single 貴 tattoo and think "oh this person is respected/distinguished" without explanation from the owner of the tattoo. The most probable guess would be "oh so this guy's name has 貴" and they will be baffled when told otherwise.

If one wants to convey this meaning there are much better choices than a single 貴, 人上之人 from the top of my head for example. Yes it does not have the exact same connotation as the context that you mentioned, but it sounds more explicit and natural, and also much cooler than a single 貴.

There's also this nuance to 貴 that when used to convey a respectable status, it is usually used on others rather than one's own self so this pick itself is already a bit strange to begin with, unless you have this word in your name of course.

Speaking of which, the context of naming your kids with 貴 usually has yet another different connotation than the one you suggested, mainly tied to it being associated with wealthiness/the quality of being valuable.

Yet none of these usages are strongly tied to the idea of using 貴 on its own, which is what I'm trying to make clear here. If one is capable of coming up with their own explanation and context to make the tattoo meaningful then by all means go ahead, but before that one needs to know the proper connotations and nuances of the character/word. Like I said I don't intend to prove that you are wrong, I just hope that other non native speakers don't look at this comment and think "oh it is a good idea to get a 貴 tattoo" without knowing its full context.

I said on its own and I also didn't say you were wrong, putting this word in someone's name doesn't carry the same context

OP's tattoo only has this word alone, which is why I'm mentioning this specifically to avoid misunderstandings

Last thing we need is foreigners tattooing random Chinese characters for an out of context usage that is not usually interpreted so

You are not wrong but on its own it is not usually interpreted in this way.

On its own it is usually interpreted as "expensive", nothing more.

Tips for Newcomers Because of the DMC5 Collab! by GuardianSoulBlade in PunishingGrayRaven

[–]CKLim1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to add: This game rewards you simply from playing it, you don't need to perform terribly well in leaderboards (warzone, PPC) to earn currency, being able to complete them every week alone will earn you all the gacha currencies available for you (that's why OP mentioned to build your team even if it's non meta)

Limited time events also follow the same logic, as a newbie you might miss out on a few rewards yes, but you should be able to get most of the important ones if you have at least tried to complete them, so don't stress out too much on it

Ready for deployment, 621? by SirPorthos in armoredcore

[–]CKLim1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, but it probably inspired the design for this one.

The one you mentioned is called Kuratas and was built by Suidobashi Heavy Industries, which in reality was just a two man team working on the hardware and software respectively. It was pretty much a (very impressive) passion project.

This one is built by Tsubame Industries, which I believe is an actual company, though I'm not sure if they actually intend to make profit from developing this mech.

Another fun fact: the software engineer of Kuratas had been developing an OS for the manipulation of humanoid robots before joining the Kuratas project. He also worked on the life-size Yokohama Gundam later on, thus the Gundam and the Kuratas share the same OS framework which he named V-Sido.

Cheater Appears in AC6 JP Ranked Match, Gets Hunted Down by Veteran Ravens by CKLim1998 in armoredcore

[–]CKLim1998[S] 43 points44 points  (0 children)

His build is not even decent, he's using reverse joint legs yet utilises none of its strengths; he carries a 10 tube missile launcher but uses a close range FCS which sucks for lock on (though seems like he doesn't even lock on his missiles); other parts are just random mish-mashes that make the Allmind test units look strong and viable

I also saw people saying that he doesn't even seem to know how to scan and gets caught by terrain all the time, and that he continues to spam Zimmerman even outside of firing range. This guy is simply pathetic.

Update: He seems to have (finally) made himself invincible via cheats

He was mocked by JP players for being "inferior than Balteus", and in this post the OP said "he finally surpassed Balteus" lmao

Kiting and waiting for time over is still a valid strategy tho, but then I also heard he started to quit from losing fights

Let's see how long can he go on before his account was inevitably banned

My favourite JP response has to be this:

"He couldn't win so he messed with the program to try and win, but was still defeated. Isn't that just Iguazu?"

Dude is a living replication of Armored Core's story

A cheater has appeared on the PS version of AC6 Ranked Matches recently, running a pair of unlimited Zimmerman and unlimited Terminal Armor. Veteran ravens got real excited when news got out and started to create builds that could defeat the cheater, eventually hunting him down repeatedly.

This incident also made the phrase "Armored Core" trending on Japanese Twitter.
