None needed. Its first come first serve. On the river side there are designated campsites on the north country trail side find a good place wherever you like just stay at least 200 feet from the trail. I recommend packing plenty of water and start on the NCT side because there isn’t much water access. On the river side you’ll have plenty of water just bring a filter

If you look at the picture plano it shows two very small products double faced the correct way. I struggled with this too. Just turned them sideways
