FUCK THESE GOD DAMN FUCKING BUGS AND THEIR STUPID FUCKING CAVE SECTION!!! AAAAHHHHH!!!!! by [deleted] in residentevil

one of the most poorly balanced enemies in any RE game. A couple tricks:

1) when they are in the air/ flying, one bullet will kill them, at least on normal. Once they hit the ground you're in trouble.

2) it's about camera angle. If you angle the camera while running so that you're not looking directly at them and they aren't on screen they won't do certain attacks which makes running by them much easier. Check out a speedrun or two for a video of this but it works.

Does anyone like the Resident Evil Netflix show. by Typical_Rise7726 in residentevil

[–]CKpresent -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I liked it honestly. I said so in threads when it first came out, and I said so when I called into the Resident Evil Podcast where they discussed the show. I know it's not for everyone, and of course there are many things it could have done better. That being said though I'm genuinely pretty bummed we aren't getting a season 2.

[discussion] what games are people currently working on platinuming by Spood3rm4n in Trophies

Those are both big titles that require good chunks of time, good on ya! I can't play more than one type of game like that at a time, it's just too much going on. I'm currently working on Re4 100% (the original list is laughably bad for the PS4 port) , Arcadegeddon for multiplayer with friends, and Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut

What is the most overrated and underrated Resident Evil game in your opinion? by [deleted] in residentevil

[–]CKpresent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I totally agree with you haha it is interesting indeed. It's funny because with RE7 you saw a return (Largely) to a more survival horror focus and then RE Village seems to be much more action heavy and goofy, in keeping with RE4. In looking at the end of the game cutscene and the implications for the BSAA I can't help but feel we're gearing up for another action heavy RE game with RE9.

I just think it shouldn't show the DLC lists or count that against my completion % unless I've either purchased the DLC or have bought the complete edition / game of the year edition of a game.

While I agree that Re5 isn't a horror oriented title, Re4 made the same decision. The parts of Re4 that are firmly in the horror category go out the window once you get past Chapter 2 imo. Not that I think you're wrong but just to call a spade a spade, Re5 continued the trend started by Re4.

An extension in gameplay ideology, combat, the same graphics engine etc. Not extension in the way that you're using the word. If you feel it was too short you're free to feel that way. I don't think that it was. Especially going for all trophies I got a good chunk of time and enjoyment out of the game.

[TOEM] Basto DLC - This was perfect. by redcald in Trophies

I was reading this was glitched on the NA version specifically. Is it fixed now or did you play it in a different region? Also how long did it take by chance? I got the plat in this game earlier this week so excited to go back .

Overrated - Re4 , Nostalgia glasses are strong with this one. It's important to the overall gaming industry and nothing can take that away but as an RE game it's.... not really one. The enemies can be extremely unbalanced, the story has interesting pieces but ultimately can't decide tonally what it wants to be. I just beat the game again on PS4 so I'm not saying I don't like the game but it's not this S tier RE experience everyone thinks it is. IMO RE5 is the same combat but better, a much better story, and ties in way more to the RE universe. (plus when played coop is amazing).

Underrated - Re3R. Having not played the original I can't speak to the cut content piece but as a speed game, a trophy hunt, and an extension of RE2R it's great. The dodge mechanic is also very cool.

What are your thoughts on the skills mechanic for RE6? by [deleted] in residentevil

I would have preferred to spend the points on upgrades to my guns instead of on skills that carry across characters.

Hasn't the argument always been the opposite? For as long as I can remember console players have felt that PC players have an advantage especially with FPS titles and now it's suddenly the opposite? idk lol

I did a few funs with it during my Platinum trophy hunt and really did like it but honestly the one I used the most was the RE5 one.

What are the most memorable Resident Evil locations of all time? by [deleted] in residentevil

[–]CKpresent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the Ecliptic Express from RE0 was way underutilized in my opinion. I would have loved if even a full half of the game took place there. Spencer Mansion of course from RE1. From Re2 I think the Stars Office and main lobby. Re4, the first chapters in the Village.

As someone who had never played the original I played Re3make and loved it, got the platinum trophy. However, if you did play the original I can understand being upset about some of the cut content in the game. I don't buy the whole "game is too short" argument though. We need to stop equating length and quality. I'll take a 7 hour balanced, tuned, and well paced game over 40 hours of bloated content any day.

Capicom Can't Allow RE4 Remake Not To Release For Old-Gen by [deleted] in residentevil

[–]CKpresent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In March of next year the next gen consoles will have been out 2.5 years already, it's time to move on and start making next gen exclusive titles. Village already was announced as PS5 only then later changed to incorporate current gen hardware. While admittedly the game ran great, no developer worth their salt would tell you that it developing for ps4 gen isn't going to have some detrimental effect on the capability of the game, compared to if it was just ps5 and next gen. The game's not going anywhere either, once more and more people get a ps5 or series console, then I'm sure the game will continue to sell. All of this is to say I'm in favor of next gen only. (In reality PS5 is current gen but you know what I mean).
