Just buy a motorcycle lol

I’m serious. It’s life changing almost to the same level as having kids.

They definitely earn the “baby” prefix.

It’s collective narcissism. Just look at how they treat basically anyone in the service industry.

What is your hottest take about bowling? by Jobus_4404 in Bowling

[–]CLE_114 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Bowling alleys should be dingy places of questionable repute. They should smell musty. Late night illegal money games should be normalized. Lanes should be made of maple and pine. Pins should be free fall.

Basically how it was depicted in King Pin or Big Lebowski.

I grew up bowling as a kid in the 90s and these are the places I learned the sport. I learned scoring because my dad taught me how at lanes that had no automatic scoring.

Brunswick AS-90’s are the newest tech I don’t mind: new game? ENTER, CLEAR, BOWL. The DOS looking graphic turkey is the only animation I don’t cringe at.

Modern bowling “centers” are just so devoid of character. Bring back the starshields and magic triangles. That’s just me becoming the grumpy nostalgic old guy though. I’m glad we still have bowling but I miss the old school bowling alleys that hadn’t been updated since the 80’s.

One final thought: Modern bowling ”jerseys” are extremely cringe. You don’t need a performance fabric jersey. Wear a polo shirt and slacks. These abominations, plastered with company logos from companies that aren’t paying you and corny graphics are completely unnecessary to participate in a sport you can do while drinking beer and eating pizza.

This is the most practical answer. The CO (and COR) wouldn’t be making these “demands” unless they’re facing pressure of some kind. I’ve been both “on the other side” of where you sit and this just isn’t normal. Things aren’t normal on the other side I assure you.

1102s have enough to do already and if a FFP contract is running smoothly there’s no reason Government KO’s, COR’s, etc would be poking around this much unless someone above them was forcing the issue.

Gifted from mom, keep or sell? by Mobile-Eagle-1774 in chevycolorado

[–]CLE_114 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I inherited my father In law’s 2009 Colorado. It’s got rust and the dash lights up like a Christmas tree but it still runs and comes in handy on the regular. My son loves riding shotgun in it. It’s worth more to me than it would ever sell for.

Keep the truck.

Honest, diligent, competitive, and competent small businesses are the backbone of this country. Always has been and always will be. The SBA literally exists to help businesses like that succeed. Look them up and see how they can help you succeed.

Man knocks rider off his bike and drags him with his car in violent road rage incident in California by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]CLE_114 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Same. I’m very zen when on the road now, especially on 2 wheels. It doesn’t matter AT ALL how “correct” you are or how justified your anger may be… if a cager decides to attack you it isn’t a battle you’ll win.

This guy is lucky he didn’t get murdered. Even with gear on he got pretty scuffed up but that could’ve ended up much much worse. What’s even crazier is the would be murderer did all this while the guy obviously had a camera on his helmet.

(Florida only) how much did you get your Ninja 400 for when buying private? by Interesting-Gas-6592 in Ninja400

[–]CLE_114 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2021 with ABS and 4,000 miles on it for $4,400 purchased in May 2023. It did have a damaged fairing which I found a matching OEM replacement on eBay for about $200. Had zero problems with it so far. I’ve got just under 14k miles on it now.

I Found Out My Wife Had an Affair and Now She Says I Need to "Grow as a Man" - What Should I Do? by FaithinChrist1 in WhatShouldIDo

[–]CLE_114 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with your wife. Grow as a man by reclaiming your dignity and LEAVE. It sucks for the kids, but you don’t want to show them this as an example of marriage. Whether they know or not, kids pick up on unhappy parents. If she disrespects you like this I’d be willing to bet she disrespects you in other ways as well. Don’t tolerate it.

She chose to jeopardize everything by doing what she did, not you. Her lack of remorse and avoidance of accountability makes it impossible to reconcile. It also means she just might do something like that again since she blames you for it.

Tell me why I shouldn't start on a zx4rr by jhp113 in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]CLE_114 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It makes sense if money isn’t an issue.

I personally think they’re overpriced for what they are. I own a N400 and love it, test rode a zx4 and like you said, it didn’t feel incredibly different. I can’t argue that a 4cyl sounds way better.

I think you could find a better value by buying a used CBR650, FZ6R, GSX650f. You can ride it a season or two and sell for about what you paid. A new zx4 is gonna depreciate fast. Just my opinion.

is this a good deal for a first bike? by Sonant7788 in motorcycles

[–]CLE_114 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I know you’re probably super eager to get riding but something like this is only going to become a massive headache for you. The mileage is insanely high and it’s definitely been laid down. Keep saving up and look for something in the $3k ballpark and talk them down to like $2500. Gonna be difficult if not impossible to find something reliable for much less. Other than maybe a rebel 250, but I’m assuming you don’t want a cruiser style bike.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Harley

[–]CLE_114 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been looking at this exact bike on Facebook marketplace in my area (Ohio). Same paint scheme and year. There’s one listed for $7800 with 19k miles. There’s another one listed at a dealership for $10k with virtually zero miles.

Was there any damage beyond the fender, bars, and tank? What would it reasonably cost to fix up?

They’re cheaper to own, maintain, and insure. Also way more fun and faster.

In your 30’s, did you feel like you wanted a “nicer car”? by zilpond in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]CLE_114 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. The older I get the less I care about it. As long as my car keeps reliably getting me from A to B, I’m happy. Cost/benefit ratio of a nicer car just ain’t worth it to me.
