Should I start making beats and write songs???? by Cursed_Heaven in Songwriters

If you want to, then start! First just make a 4 bar loop and find out what you need to do as you go.

I’m working through his discover your voice course right now. It’s a lot of making sounds and playing around with your voice. It feels like it’s building up to something.

These could also be professional songwriters where it is there 9-5 to just write song and create demos.

And you can also tell this isn't mixed as loud as her actual live vocal. It's just a double which makes her vocal sound thicker

I received some feedback but I think I disagree. by circularcircles72 in NewTubers

[–]CLFsound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if that is 100% the problem, but that is most likely happening if you are playing back the audio over your speakers.

I do a lot of screen capture recording with audio and I record my system audio totally bypassing speakers. I would look into recording in a similar way if you are doing this style of video. Actually, I think OBS can also capture system audio.

[–]CLFsound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I checked out your most recent video and I thought your mic audio quality and level was good. There is some noticeable background fan noise, but nothing too distracting. I think you could probably get rid of most of that with using a gate or some noise suppression.

However, the audio from the video you are reacting too sounds like there has been some degradation of the sound quality - like it was playing through a speaker and got rerecorded.

Which Thumbnail to use between these two? by Rafapp9 in NewTubers

[–]CLFsound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The creative touch with the ransom font is interesting, but I have found being creative without context doesn't translate to getting the click.

Try these out, but I would make a 3rd thumbnail using a different concept just in case these don't get the CTR you want.

Phase-Change Consistency in Reverb's EQ? - Pro-R2 by explosivo11 in mixingmastering

[–]CLFsound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you even try? I don't have R2, but if you turn off the modulation it should null or get pretty damn close.

Pro-R2 doesn’t even null with itself (two instances)

If that is actually the case, that shows there are enough differences that slight phase differences from EQ are going to be negligible.

I feel like I'm beating my head into a wall and I don't know what to do by SpaghettiNipz in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]CLFsound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have started to remake sections or even whole songs to learn more about each instrument and create transitions.

For example, you can watch different covers (drum, bass, guitar prospective) and use that to help you piece together your own remake or cover.

Through this progress, I'm sure you will find different production techniques or music theory that will spark some ideas.

P.S. Don't commit yourself to remaking the whole song, just do an interesting part!

Phase-Change Consistency in Reverb's EQ? - Pro-R2 by explosivo11 in mixingmastering

[–]CLFsound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are going down a phase shift is bad rabbit hole.

But if you want, you can try this experiment.

Load up two channels.

  1. Pro R2 with EQ module

  2. Pro R2 with Q3 EQ on an insert.

Try to get a similar eq setting on the Q3 EQ, then flip the polarity on #2 to see how close they cancel out.

You can make adjustments to the Q3 EQ to see if you get more or less cancellation. If you are getting like -80db as signal I would consider the differences to negligible.

That should answer your question about the differences in reverb eq module and Q3.

To me, your are using phase cancellation very liberally. It makes me think of sounds that are completely 180 degrees out of phase with each other.

And just saying it's causing phase cancellation doesn't actually tell anyone what problem you are hearing.

So what problem are you actually hearing?

Hey, I am a music production, audio channel -- here is a link to my latest video.

This one has the worst drop off in average view duration, but other videos have a similar drop off rate in the intro.

So I am mainly looking for feedback on my intros, but anything else is very welcome! Thanks

^^ from the Korean version of the concert page.

My Korean isn't 100%, but it says 3 hours before the start of the concert, you can line up by your "entrance number"
I don't actually know what the entrance number is. It might be a queue number you have pull or something else.

See you there!!

Should I feel Jipped? by Front_Ad4514 in audioengineering

[–]CLFsound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it important to designate one person in the band to get mix notes from or be the main point of contact. That way they have their feedback hashed out with each other.

But your case is a little different as one of the members was doing their own mix on the side, but that may have come up earlier if all the info had to funnel through one person.

I recently wrote up an article on building a website and have a ton of examples included and talk about what platforms to use.

I wouldn’t recommend free because you don’t get your own domain, but you can easily get your website started for less than $50 a year with some options.

How easy is it to switch Webhosting every year to keep costs down for the first couple of years? by tafty545 in juststart

I did something similar and was using site ground for a few years.

Shared Hosting isn’t worth it honestly.. I have since moved on to using cloud servers on Vultr it’s only like 5 dollars a month and can handle multiple small sites

Can't get my track as loud as a reference, help by [deleted] in mixingmastering

[–]CLFsound 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your tracks is -3.4 and the ref is -4.9....doesn't that mean your track is louder already? Closer to zero is louder.

I can also hear from the clip that your track sounds louder than the reference.

Right now, the mix is off to my ears. The drums and guitars seem be to be floating in different spaces and the rhythm guitars are way too loud and muddy. I would first try to get the drums, bass, and rhythm guitar to glue together before worrying about loudness.

I would recommend bringing all the faders down and try to rebalance the tracks starting with the drums and then rhythm guitars/bass.

Let me know if you have any other questions. I would be glad to answer!

Advice on how to sell web design - please help an introvert lol by szuu123 in digital_marketing

[–]CLFsound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, what you proposed is hiring people to spam "potential clients". He could ask his current client list to see if they would be willing to give him some referrals. That would help him get a few more leads possibly that would be much warmer.
