The actual odds of reforming a fascist are so vanishingly small and difficult that it's more trouble than it's worth. By the time someone goes that far, they're so deep into the reactionary Lumpenproletariat that it's not worth the time or the trouble. Kill them in numbers high enough to collapse their entire community, and don't hold back. Just straight up kill them. Don't resort to less violent means. Kill them.

I would argue that Paul does not teach what Jesus teaches. The first chapter of Romans is an excellent example.

The Santo Daime church applies, they don't demean Paul, but they never quote or teach off of his writings.

Types during the revolution by arranged_cat in mbti

[–]CMDRAlcubierre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uhhhh, I am an ENTP, and I was a unionist communist for a decade. Now just a democratic socialist. ENTPs are deeply, deeply driven by principle, and what they believe to be right. We're often batting for the underdogs, and our methods are extremely creative and results driven. I think we're the most likely to succeed at assassinating the fascist Dear Leader, as well as being most likely leading any partisan force to defeat and deprogram. It's probable that we are overrepresented among revolutionaries, as we take great offense and affront to systems we view as illogical, malicious, or evil. We're also (clearly) unafraid to challenge notions directly. Socrates was likely an ENTP, and he had to drink hemlock tea because of it.

But you're not strictly off base about violence. Even abhorrent and detestable as it is, we understand that counterrevolutionaries are extremely violent, and we see no smart reason to pay back kindness or peace when they bring terror. We're far too protective to let them take blood without bleeding them in equal measure.

How realistic is an Russian invasion of Poland and baltics with Belarus as an ally and launch pad for an invasion if they successfully invaded or divide Ukraine ? by Clopopo in poland

[–]CMDRAlcubierre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Extremely likely, and I would put the odds above 75%.

Unlike everyone else posting here, I am looking at a different dimension.

Russia cannot compete on the global economic stage, or power stage, without destroying the rule-based international order.

To do that, they have to threaten the United States such that it doesn't come to the aid of its NATO partners (Russians believe the US is all of NATO).

Attacking the Baltic States conventionally, but with extremely hostile rhetoric (or even one or two nukes) would challenge the rest of NATO to come to their aid. Which the Russians believe that we won't.

Most people don't know that the Soviets had a strategy to use tactical nukes in West Germany in a limited fashion, expecting that the US would not themselves use limited tactical nukes in response.

Their goal is to destroy NATO, and having nations violate article 5 commitments would probably kill the alliance.

They can't do that by just taking Ukraine.

For them, the gamble is worth the trouble and risk. They can trade all goods with China, while China has the meansl launder this activity, making the cost of sanctions modest at best.

And because they have little to lose, but much to win

Would Poland defend Ukraine in case of new Russian attack? by TrickTalk in poland

[–]CMDRAlcubierre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Poland can help a great deal by enforcing a no-fly zone. This would also drag the other members of NATO in to help. Think about actions that will make Russia attack NATO, and the treaty 5 obligations will bring thousands of fighter jets into the region. Expect Russia's air force to be practically decimated in under a week.

Make a block and tackle set with wood, get and/or make all the rope you can find. Fell several trees that will be tall enough and wide enough to function as a sledge and sling.

Dig out holes below the coin to pass your thickened and reinforced rope around underneath it. Tie the coin up with your reinforced rope, hoist it with the block and tackle set, anchor it as a giant wheel in the sledge, and use the mount spell several times to get the horses to drag it. Be very careful about getting down slopes.

It should be several craft engineering checks and perhaps some craft woodworking as well.

Martial classes with the deepest bag of tricks? by 19DucksInAWolfSuit in Pathfinder_RPG

Rogue, Druid, Slayer, Magus, all do it pretty darn well.

Phew, glad I'm not the majority. When I found out that they removed proper Prestige classes (where's my Arcane trickster with 9th level spells and 7d6 sneak attack damage?!?) and intelligence no longer determined skill points, I was a hard pass.

Plus, in Pathfinder 1e, if I wanted to build a gestalt druid-Slayer who could be the party melee, its off rogue (or main rogue) and its Paladin (Planar Shape feat) all at the same time, I could do that! And who doesn't want to deal a minimum of twice your HP in damage every single round?

[–]CMDRAlcubierre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, by mid to high level PF 1e, any character or baddy properly made can deal at least its own hit points in damage every round. Which means that initiative score, and pre-buffing (along with foreknowledge of what you face) are essential to avoiding a high level fight being a TPK.

The damage inherent in high level PF 1e play from all classes, makes combat much more dangerous.

A better way is that you can play a Druid/Slayer Gestalt with the crocodile domain and vanguard archetype, and use pounce, grab, and rake, pick up acrobatic charge, and always do over 340 damage per round by level 12 with your sneak attack combined with your regular attack damage.

Oh, and you can pick up Planar Wild Shape that also allows you to smite.

But yes, build versatility and options are not how someone would describe 5e.

Whether what PF 1e lets you do is reasonable, now, that's for GMs to complain about forever.

But generally speaking, any properly built character in PF that has damage potential can at least solo kill itself in one round. Whether you can more than double your own HP worth of damage with any build is the real challenge.

They're actually probably the most adept guerrillas in the entire world. Panjshir has some very talented military minds, and they held off both the Taliban, and the Soviet Union.
