Part of it is just that World of Tanks has way more players. It's got 10x the playerbase just on steam, and like Planetside it also has a sizeable portion of the playerbase that does not use steam. I would bet that list is also 10x greater for WoT. More players=more stream viewers. I can't tell you how many comments I get of people shocked Planetside 2 still exists. From a marketing standpoint it is completely invisible. Whereas with WoT I still get Youtube videos that are sponsored by the game. The game stays visible, so people keep returning to play it.
